Thoughtless and reckless surgeon



Went to Dr. Timothy A. Treece for a Chin & Cheek implant and he managed to botch both surgeries. The cheek implant was so big my family said I look like an alien. This is especially upsetting because I specifically told him several times, including when I met with him pre-surgery, that I want at very natural, subtle improvement – I don’t want anything big or dramatic at all. If that wasn’t bad enough - My chin implant incision was intraorally (in my mouth) and never closed properly so chin implant was exposed and coming into my mouth. Dr. Treece showed little concern about the exposed chin implant and said not to worry and that it would heal naturally. So losing my trust in Dr. Treece I went to Dr. James McMahan, who is a wonderful person, for a second opinion. Dr. McMahan said this had to come out immediately as it will become infected which can lead to death. He was so concerned he even wrote a letter requesting that the implant be removed.

So I finally was able to convince Dr. Treece to remove both the chin & cheek implants. So you would think this horrific experience would be over but not the case. When he removed the chin implant, he did not reattach the mentalis muscle correctly which resulted in permanent lower lip ptosis. This means that my lower lip was hanging so low that you can see my bottom teeth which make it very hard to eat, drink, and even pronunciate. So after all these years I finally found a doctor in NYC that can fix this issue but it will cost another $15,000. So not only did I have two botched surgeries by Dr. Treece but now I have to pay $15,000 and go through yet another surgery to fix what he did. What was most upsetting about this experience was not necessarily that surgeries went wrong but was the way Dr. Treece blew off the situation and seemed not at all interested in helping. I received tons more concern and advice from Dr. McMahan who didn’t even do my surgery then Dr. Treece. This is truly unbelievable.
