I have not had a problem with Rumpke except they only take the trash can and never a large idem and there price has went up over the past two years quite a bit.

Per my knowledge, "one star" means I "hated" the service of this company, which is correct. Complete waste of time and frustrating. I have lived in Crescent Springs for three months and had the Rumpke recycling service for the duration of this time. During this three months my recycling has not been picked up three times. Two times I called the company and in short, there was a breakdown between Accounts (which showed I was paying) and the production division of the company, which showed I was not paying. On the first occasion I had to bring my recycling back into my garage. The second time my recycling wasn't picked up I called (and please note, the gentleman I spoke to in Accounts was service oriented and helpful) I requested the truck be sent back to pick up my recycling, which was done. This morning the vehicle came 4 hours earlier than usual (note: four HOURS earlier than any other week in the past three months), and thus half of the people on my road who leave very early managed to get their recycling picked up and the rest did not. So once again, my recycling has not been picked up and I am not having to bring it back into my garage. Very disappointing service. I am moving to a new neighborhood and will not be using Rumpke.

I only give 1 star because zero isn't an option. Since Rumpke started to collect recycling for the City of Columbus, they seem to not care about the few residents whom still pay for service on their own. 4 out of 6 of my recycling pick ups were missed, and I had to call several times about each missed pick up. After the 3rd miss, I requested that a supervisor call me with a solution to this issue, and although I was told this would happen, it never did. After the 4th miss, I was done giving them chances. I requested a full refund and cancellation, but even that was a hassle. I was disconnected the first time I called about cancelling, then had to wait for a supervisor to authorize it, then had to call back to talk to customer service to find out that it would be 4-6 weeks before I would see my refund and that no specific date would be given for when they would pick up my container (I can't just leave it out due to condo association regulations). Unless you are part of the RecyColumbus program or enjoy paying for service that you only receive 1/3 of the time, I absolutely recommend against Rumpke.
