Horizon Science Academy-Columbus is a charter school that receives grants from the Lucas County Educational Service Center. The academy has an enrollment of more than 250 students in grades five through eight. Its academic curriculum includes English, mathematics, science, social studies, art, computer applications, and health and physical education. Horizon Science Academy-Columbus promotes participation in community service projects through class meetings, assemblies, workshops, open houses and student performances. It also conducts various sports activities, including basketball, volleyball, soccer and softball. The academy additionally maintains chess, drama, recycling, geography, choir, and arts and crafts clubs. Horizon Science Academy-Columbus offers after-school programs and organizes science fairs, field trips and educational outings. It is located in Columbus, Ohio, and is managed and operated by Concept Schools.
