The Columbus Division of Fire Training Academy is comprised of deputy and battalion chiefs, captains, firefighters, nonuniform staff and a lieutenant. It ensures that members of the Columbus Division of Fire possess the necessary skills and abilities to safely and effectively deal with difficult situations. The Columbus Division of Fire Training Academy has an emergency medical training section that maintains records, performs quality assurance reviews, and answers requests for reports from police, attorneys and coroner's office. It also maintains a recruit training section that provides training on divisional operations. The academy additionally offers apprenticeship, rescue, and officer and specialized training.
