So just word of advice.

I have never, ever, done anything stronger then alcohol or weed, but during grad school I developed severe anxiety and started to abuse alcohol. I sought help through OSU and the psychiatrist put me on naltrexone to help fight cravings. Naltrexone is also an opioid inhibitor used to treat people with with those types of addictions but is occasionally used for alcohol as well. The first time I tried to donate at Bio Blood Components I was still on naltrexone even though I had stopped using alcohol, and I was upfront about the medications I was on. BBC, informed me that I couldn't donate because of the naltrexone and I would need to prove I wasn't drinking (exactly how I would do that I'm not sure...) Fast forward and I'm strapped for cash as grad students are, and haven't been on naltrexone for at least two months. I try to go back to BBC and I've been flagged for life and can't donate there at all. They didn't care that it had never been for opiates....

This is a bit overdue but I we...

This is a bit overdue but I went through 4 donations before I wrote this review. In my experience I find all businesses to have good & bad progress. On Bio-Bloods behalf I must say that the experience is as good or bad as you make it. I think that with as many people that come in & out of there & as many people who either lie or try to defraud the system it makes it difficult for the employees to be more "personal" with clients when always faced with deception. On the other hand, even if its repititious & time consuming employees must do there job to the best of there abilities. I did question the experience level of a few people there when it came to finding a vein & inserting the needle. I found myself leaving with several bruises a couple times. The wait period was not bad at all. The payment plan is very clear & accurate. The cleanliness of the all areas could use a little help but was not bad by any means. So my overall rating is that I would recommend this place to others. They provide a good service to both the client & to those that need plasma. One last thing, I would like to point out a few above and beyond employees. Terry, you do a great job. there are two K.K.'s i would like to recognize for there professional & personal skills. I may have missed a couple & i apologize for that but i remember you:) Thanks!

to say i was nervous when i we...

to say i was nervous when i went to donate the first time would be an enormous understatement. the process for me being a first time donor took about 4 hours total, which includes basic medical history paperwork, a brief physical exam, and background questions. make sure you bring your mail (cannot be hand written address), id, and SS card for the first time. staff were very friendly and made me feel at ease. moved slow at first, but around 11 a.m. it really started moving fast. first 4 times you donate you get $50 and its $30 after that. seems like an easy/fast way to make a lil cash on the side. would definitely reccomend this place to anyone.

Good reviews for a reason :)

The first visit did take a long time, but still comes out to $10.00 an hour plus! The staff was very friendly, the patrons were friendly. In a nutshell no one made me feel foolish about donating. I have never donated before and chose this one due to the good reviews, I was not disappointed and now look forward to working this into my routine. Very friendly and Proffessional.

Really Cool Place

I agree with Jknox99, they really hit the nail on the head. I think this place is the best out of all the centers I have been too. Its the right size and take me under a hour to give my plasma. They pay pretty good too. They give you extra money if you donate more that four times in a month. It never hurts to get extra money. People are nice too, its fun there, laid back and cool. I brougt three of my friends and I got ten bucks for each of them. I go monday and wensday, its not busy then.

You must be blind and deaf

Have you ever been there. I think that perhaps you are mistaken with many of the other centers in the area. I go there often and have never once been treated rudely. People are very professional. Have you ever thought that perhaps you are bashing the wrong people? Why did you go to donate? I go from the goodness of my heart. People generally go because they are in need of instant cash, the staff are indeed exceptional and I know you are not talkig about the same place I know.

rudest people ever

I have never been in a place where I have seen the donors and employees talked to like dogs. I just witnessed a donor being yelled at very disrespectfully by a manager.never again will I come back here. Even the male employees are dispectful to females you tell don't want to be bothered. I think they call that sexual harrassment. IBR on w.broad and wilson rd pay 40 and 50 dollars and probably are more professional. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I've EVER SEEN!!!

Plasma Donation

You can get paid for plasma donations! I got paid 35 dollars for my first and sencond time, then the third I got 30 dollars! It fast and easy. All I needed was an unexpired photo ID, social secuirty card and two pieces of mail post dated in the last thirty days and I was in. I was done in under two hours the first time and every other time its been 45 minutes or so. I would tell everyone to do it, its quick easy tax free cash!"
