I always thought the only place to get a good hot dog was at a sporting event. That is no longer true. I have now been going on a regular basis to Acme (sometimes 2 or 3x/week) and plan on continuing to do so. Mark and his wonderful staff of young people make it a pleasureable experience in trying "dogs" served in many variations. You name it, and he has the toppings. My favorites include the Big Kahuna (onion, green peppers, and pineapple.); Ruben Dog; Boston Bean, and the "Chicago Dog". Acme beats out Wholly Joe's (Polaris Pkwy), Dog Joint (Westerville) and the long standing Phillips Coneys (downtown Columbus and OSU campus). Also try the Sea Dog (fish) and the many styles of sausages that are also available. All sides are homemade - cole slaw, baked beans, potato and mac salad, German potato salad, mac and cheese, etc. Desserts include Aunt Judy's brownie, Velvet ice creams, shakes and malts. In the mood for "Fair" food try the fried cheese on a stick, funnel cakes and funnel fries. New to the menu and soon to be tried fried bologna. Definitely a 5 star experience.
