I have never met a more experienced and reputable trainer who has the humility and heart to work with the average dog-owning public. We had an excellent training experience with Dani and appreciated being able to purchase high quality training tools and doggy snacks that are hard- if not impossible- to find elsewhere. Most impressive is a behind-the-scenes commitment to excellence and service that they don't feel the need to brag about. (Ever wondered what type of trainer would be needed to teach a service dog to recognize when someone is about to have a seizure or low blood sugar attack? Look no further!) I recommend their services for training of young pups, troubleshooting problem behaviors, and re-training the proverbial "old dog," who, unlike the saying, will be doing new tricks in no time.

My wife and I got an older rescue dog with some definite behavior issues. We found the private training sessions to be very helpful.



We have had great experiences with the day care.



Within 12 months, we went from a hyperactive dog who only knew one command, to a more balanced dog with a whole bunch of tricks.



We ended up taking the therapy dog program training, and passed that. Now our dog is able to visit schools and nursing homes.



I would highly recommend A Place for Paws to a friend. In particularly their dog trainer Lisa Dean, and pet sitter Kala.



Dog training is one of those things that you get out of it what you put into it.

AVOID this place it's not worth the money! First off the puppy classes are a joke unless you get the one on one sessions then I can't comment because I would not allow myself to be suckered in to that. The puppy class is with a group of others which I didn't mind at all however the only thing that was taught to my dog was how to beg for treats and that's all she really teaches. When she even shows up. We usually had someone she brought in from a training school. Don't let this fool you! It's not a pro doing the training its a student. Now I don't know about you but I did not sign up and spend $90 to help teach a student trainer the ropes. I paid for puppy training which I feel I definately did NOT get! At the end of your 6 week class todays students get some nice akc puppy training certificates. Something that was not even given out when I attended this joke of a class. We got nothing but practically begged to do the one on one training session. I just chuckled about that as my pup definately did not need that. But you could tell Danni was hungry for the money. Listen bottom line is if you want your puppy to be be well trained DO NOT USE A Place for Paws. NOT WORTH IT! Or try it so I can say "I told ya so"!
