I'm new to Columbia so I was nervous about finding a new mechanic when I wrecked my truck. I was very lucky to find engine Menders, not only did they do a great job rebuilding my truck the owner was very friendly and easy to deal with.

I have done business with Bodymender for over 20 years with the greatest satisfaction you could ever want from a repair shop! After the unfortunate and great loss to everyone who ever knew or done business with him the owner passed away. My vehicle was left in the hands of The owner and employees of Engine Menders which is directly next door. I got my truck back for months later with a wart hood glued to gather headlight bad welds on the Frame a hood no longer will open weatherstrip gaskets that were not put back on the truck windshield cow that was cracked not replaced or repaired covered up rust on parts that should have been replaced electrical problems due to its sitting in the weather with no hood for four months missing parts and parts off of a different vehicle that were in bad condition and should not have been used at all. Finally after my insurance agent was told to leave the property I had to pick up my truck incomplete and a remainder of $2800 worth of work that I have to pay for now to correct what they did and replace what they did not! My vice to any and all stay away from the shoddy underhanded nonprofessional work that Engine Menders provides when it comes to their body and frame work!!!

Engine Menders is deserving of the highest recommendation that I, as a client, am able to bestow upon them. I brought my 2003 PT Cruiser in after being informed by another car shop that I needed a new Coolant pump replacement which can be a costly procedure. Engine Menders under the supervision of Shane, properly diagnosed the issue my car was experiencing . Engine Menders was very meticulous in their diagnostic procedure(s) and got my car back to running the way it should be. I would also be remiss in not mentioning "KT", the customer service Rep who is" par for the course" when it comes to establishing a positive environment. Very professional and knowledgeable crew at Engine Menders. Nuff Said.

OK, this is going to be a long review, but these guys are TOTALLY worth it, so here goes. This is a no frills shop. I personally don't care if there is free coffee and ESPN on in the lobby because that means I am paying for it in my bill on the end. It is what you expect from a mechanic shop. Everyone I met or spoke to was courteous and knowledgeable and all answered my MANY questions (I drove Shane crazy with questions, even though he won't admit I did). Shane sourced the best and cheapest place for the parts I needed, and my bill was less, not more, than he quoted. Let me state we have a 2008 Ford F150 which is problematic, to say the least (Google it, god knows it's a horrible year for bugs on this truck), and none of the MANY other shops we took it to would listen when I said, "by the way, the wheel is wobbling. 5 shops (including some very big chain stores) have said it is fine , can you take a look?" Lo and behold, we had a bent axle. Potential for a dangerous accident as well as thousands of dollars in rear end damage, and they saw it and fixed it. They fixed MY screw up (I won't be washing that engine again), and did it all with a smile. Shane called me and kept me updated at every turn. That alone is priceless. Don't you hate it when the shop has your vehicle that you NEED and they say they'll call and they don't, and then you have to call them and they act like it's a inconvenience to them? Well, that didn't happen here. All in all, I LOVE these guys, and they have my business as long as they are in business and I will recommend them until I am blue in the face. About two weeks ago my fiancé and I were headed to Charleston from Charlotte to get married! Of course on the way down, my car decided to quit on us. I knew it was the transmission! We had the car towed from where we broke down to Engine Mender. We were nervous about bringing the car to a place we have never been to but we were beyond thankful that we found this place. The owners are so down to earth and friendly. The staff was very helpful and communicated with us constantly. My car took about a week to fix and when I picked it up the staff took time to go over everything with us. Having a transmission replaced is a big deal and can be stressful if you’re not familiar with the mechanics. I am so confident they did above and beyond. My car runs so smoothly now. I am so appreciative for their services and would ABSOLUTELY recommend Engine Menders to anyone in Columbia or surrounding areas.

Engine Menders is the world's best auto shop! They are family owned here in Columbia, and are dedicated, honest, and automechanic geniuses!!! The kind of place that makes me realize I can never leave Columbia, because I couldn't find another place that compares! They've had the same mechanics working there for as long as I've been going there, they truly care about their customers individually, and have kept my 250,000 mile car going and going and going! They also do awesome high performance work too. They work on all types of cars and trucks, no job too big or little, old or new! : ) Now my whole family takes their cars there... Shane, Matt, Chris, Amber, and the rest are awesome!!! (The other reviewer is right, they really do treat you like family!)

these are remarkable people! They have excellent customer service , they make their customer feel part of the family!! They are a family own buisness which i really like!! The techs are very gifted when it comes to cars, i Feel like their is nothing they cant solve!! Im real glad that i have found a permanent and trust worthy mechanics! they have not yet once broke my pocket they have actually saved me money and the work is A+! I would definitely say go to these guys! At least stop by and try em out ,just talk to em and get a feel ! YOU will SEE!!
