One day I decided that I was going to get a tatoo. Being the somewhat impulsive person that I am, I called Body Rites and was referred to Sketch for a simple cuff bracelet type tatoo consisting of intertwined ivy. I was pleased beyond my own belief with the results. The artist was very professional, explained the way the equipment to be used had been sanitized and made completely safe for use. After the beautiful "permanent bracelet", I got ideas for other tatoos which I've heard is normal for people who really like their first one. After a few additional sessions and brainstorming by me & suggested modifications by the artist, I am now totally enjoying forearm tatoos on each arm. The ivy bracelet evolved into a glorious mix of vibrant colors swirling around additional intertwined ivy. On the other forearm is a tranquil Asian scene of a bonsai tree with much detail on the trunk as it winds up my forearm. It's complete with mountains in the background, green grass & a special request from me, a red swing hanging from a branch while gently swaying in the imaginary breeze. Good meditation material! My future plans include more Asain tatoos to complete a sleeve when time and finances permit. Sketch is an amazing artist, and he doesn't make me feel weird for beginning my body art at my age which is 57, surely not the average age of his customers, but I felt like it was now or never & I chose NOW!

Today was my first one. I am starting a new chapter in my life and this is the way I chose to celebrate it. I chose a yellow rose bud and had it place on my left chest area.

From the time I walked in I was welcomed and put at ease. I am almost 50 and a large women and no one looked at me like what was I doing there but greeted me and immediately took me under their care.

The place was clean, the instruments clean, and I was treated with respect and gentle care. I was put at ease and they took time with me to make sure I was completely satisfied with my design, colors etc.

I had a great experience and would highly recommend them. I left fully understanding the proper care of my new tattoo and was smiling both inside and out and on a natural high. Thanks guys for making this such a wonderful experience!
