Dr. Michael Kotlicky specializes in diagnosing and treating Binocular Vision Disorders that make reading and learning difficult. You can have 20/20 eyesight, yet lack the visual skills critical for reading.

Are any of these signs present when reading?

  • Avoids reading
  • Poor reading comprehension
  • Headaches
  • Loss of place on the page
  • Blurry or double print
  • Tracking problems
  • Skip or reread words/lines of print
  • Use finger or ruler as a pointer
  • Eyestrain and drowsy when reading
  • Short attention span for reading
  • Take forever on homework or deskwork
  • Close or cover one eye when reading
  • Perform below ability or potential in school, work or sports

If so, you should schedule a Developmental Vision Evaluation. Due to the similarity of symptoms, Binocular Vision Disorders are often mis-diagnosed as ADD/ADHD, Dyslexia and Learning Disabilities. So call today to rule out the possibility that an undiagnosed vision problem could be at the root of your difficulties. The good news is that Binocular Vision Disorders such as Convergence Insufficiency are correctable through Vision Therapy, and major medical insurance often covers the testing and treatment. Don't let a correctable vision problem hold you or your child back. For more information, and to meet the doctor, attend one of our free monthly seminars held at the main office in Columbia. Call 410-960-6317 for dates and reservations.
