Dr. Romanow provides individualized, thoughtful care for people with neurological conditions. Neurological diseases are those of the brain, spine and nerves. Examples include headaches, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, neuropathy, tremor, Parkinson’s disease, stroke, brain injury, concussion, and dementia. She treats patients with care and respect as she determines an accurate diagnosis and develops a comprehensive treatment plan. Patients often comment that Dr. Romanow is unique in how she explains conditions and treatments clearly so that patients understand each step of the process. Dr. Romanow graduated cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a BA, and earned her medical degree from the University of Virginia in 2001. She completed her medical internship and neurology residency at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in New York City. During her final year there she was the chief resident of neurology, and was awarded the House Staff Teaching Award, which recognizes doctors for excellence in teaching. This is a skill she uses today to explain conditions and treatments to patients. Dr. Romanow finished her neurology residency in 2005, and moved to Silver Spring, where she still lives with her family. She was an epilepsy fellow at the University of Maryland, finishing in 2007, and has been practicing neurology in Columbia since 2008. She is board certified in neurology.
