Very best braiding shop in Colorado

Keke L Dillard. From Talaa .
I am shocked at your review . You wrote your review on 25th then come to our shop on 26th to have your hair done at our unprofessional salon? I don't understand! If our shop is soo unprofessional why did you beg us to do your hair? If you have something to say Atleast have the courage to do so in person instead of hiding behind your keyboard. Nobody is perfect but we do our best to provide our clients with the best services we can. The work of our hands and the satisfaction of our clients can be clearly seen on our facebook page. Talaa African braiding. You know we are the best in Colorado spring and that's why you came to our shop don't be a hater.Have a nice day.

After complaining to the owner about being late she threaten to stab and kill me after I had been waiting for over an hour. The owner said that she would stab me and kill me and to get the f*** out of her shop. This place is dirty with hair and food everywhere. This is the most unprofessional establishment in Colorado Springs and I will be contacting the BBB and this place should be closed down ASAP.Avoid this place at all cost!!!

I had an appointment at 7:00am when I got to the shop all the lights were off and the door locked so I was patient and waited around until 9:00am because I understand people run late sometimes. I started calling and texting but never got a return call or text. I'm in the military so my time is valuable the least a person can do is return a phone call or text not ignore someone. Hopefully everyone's experience from here on out is better than mine. Every time I get my hair done I'm asked who does it and trust and believe if anyone in the military asks me where to get there braids done I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS SHOP. Waste of an early Saturday morning. I could have stayed in my bed and slept.

Let me start off by saying I was a little reluctant to come to this shop because of some of the negative reviews. I can't tell you how happy I am with my experience with Talaa. She did a magnificent job on my hair and I felt right at home from the moment I walked in til the time I left. Also, please understand that Talaa is a very busy woman and tries to please everybody. She literally braids all day and all night so the woman barely has time to sleep. Just be patient and try to work with her and you won't regret it. Best braid shop in town. Wonderful woman. Wonderful employees.

TALAA of AFRICAN BRAIDING has consistently provided a quality service with a genuine & compassionate personality for the past 4 years I have known her. Whatever all these negative reviews are truly about, has nothing to do with her skills as a braider! It appears there are a few people out there who want to see her business fail (probably those who wanted to work with her and found their skills don't hold a candle to Talaa's, do they had to move on). In regards to the women speaking French... I myself am a Linguist - that is to say, I speak 5 languages, however, I partially agree with the discontentment of any language being spoken when not everyone in the room speaks it as well. Yet to state this is America, so speak English is really rather silly since America does not a a "dedicated official language". I do understand how speaking in one's Native language is easier for some people, it is an act of Audism (excluding anyone from a conversation by speaking a language that is foreign to anyone who is present - without an effective Interpreter present for the inclusion). More often than not, a simple, polite request for them to practice the dominate language of the general public while in their company, often results in a more unified and comfortable experience for everyone. Off my soap box now *winks*, TALAA AFRICAN BRAIDING is where I go for my braids, and I am a Braider myself! Nobody can satisfy everybody, though I am confident that Talaa will at the very minimum do her very best to give you a quality service.

This is by far the most unprofessional African braiding place in Colorado Springs. Not once but twice bad services from them. WILL NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO GO THERE. THE HOURS OF OPERATIONS IS LIES!! She work when she want to work!! I rather pay service at in home slaughter house than there!!

COLORADO SPRINGS SUPER AFRICAN BRAIDING SALON.

First of all colorado springs hair stylist do a great job.I dont care if your from east or south.Talaa did my hair and just to proof it look it up on her facebook page the great work she does.

Lady below monique I was at talaa salon doing my hair when you came in with your nasty stinky attitude calling them slaves. You come from new jersey so what??? That isnt a reason for you to insult anybody regardless of where they come from.I wanted to slap the crap out of you but you were lucky I know jesus. You had your hair done you loved it went home your boyfriend didnt like the style because it didnt look like beyonce's, whose fault is it??? You made threats to bring down talaa salon on facebook, yellow page and all the media outlets. But let me remind you that with your attitude and your stinky body odor no one will take you in except ofcourse if you go back to the east. The way you posted this review looks like you were high on something.Eveybody was laughing at you and telling you to leave the shop cos you were as getto as hell. You cant compare yourself with beyonce. Get you a life wannabe beyonce!!

Love. Love. Love this place. I'm new to the Colorado area and was excited to find a braid shop after hearing about the weather in this area. Serena and Eunice were the perfect hostess. The ladies were polite , hospitality to the max, they made sure myself and the other customer were well taken care of. Not to mention my hair is fabulous. I have gone to many braid shops in the South and Northern parts of the east coast and none of them, met the expectations I received Sunday. Thanks ladies for not only a fabulous hair due for the next 3 months but a great time in your shop. Felt like I was in my shop back home.

Really!?!?

Ok..not to detour anyone else but....when I want quality work done and I take precious time to care for my hair, I expect that u also do the same. How can u say u work with damaged hair and natural hair, when u dnt even properly do hair!?!?!?!! I went there being skeptical..never a f***in gain!! Dnt know how to wash hair...dnt condition it (uses blue magic hair grease..good an fine back before i discovered better products!)..dnt blow dry natural hair right. I mean come one..ends to roots..EVERYONE KNOWS THAT!! I went in there ready to get my hair done nicely so i can continue to grow healthy hair. I bet when i take this crap out ill be back to where i started. Everything i have grown will be cut due to improper blow drying and combing with a rat tail come. They specialize in bald spots and damaged hair because they cause it. SMH!! Who does that and where!?!? A sew in is supposed to look natural when its not full and hair is left out. Ummm why do i have cornrows showing? Why do i hae to leave ur shop and do my own hair into a style? What am i paying u for? Oh i know...to do my hair tight after u already damaged it..so ican come home an take it out and redo it better myself. My roots an edges are pretty much done. When u can see the white root bulb, that means its too tight. I really have to stop trying to put faith in these bootleg Colorado hair stylist. Firsy i thought i was being ignorant but now i see u people have no skills here. PROCEED TO THIS SHOP AT YOUR OWN CAUTION...IF U ARE FROM OUT EAST...THIS PLACE IS NOT FOR U!!!! Id give no stars if I could. And if I wasnt courteous Id strangle her for my money back!!

One last thing...kept changing the times when I should come in...so im thinking this must be a new employee...Nope!! This is the owner!! U have me wait for u for hrs, then u do a bad rush job or whatever u wanna call it..Ha!! She was acting as if she didnt know what time the store opened...ummm dnt u make the hrs?!?! Wtf people!!

Sorry for the rant but everytime i look at my edges i get pissed! And i hate to see my money go to nothing at all.

FAST BRAIDS BUT TOO OVERBOOKED!!

Going to talaa salon was the best experience ever since have never left any African braiding salon less than 5hrs.Talaa was such a nice caring lady but the French speaking braiders were really getting into my nerves. This is America for Christ sake SPEAK ENGLISH!!!!. I loved every little detail except the native French speaking braiders. The shop is very clean, well decorated and I ate lunch without paying a dime.I pleaded with talaa to have a braiders speak English or else am not going back.Otherwise Its the BEST AFRICAN SALON IN COLORADO SPRINGS .

Over paid!!!

I went and got my hair braided last week... I asked how much a style was on Fb and was told it was $180 when I got there it was $250. Since I really needed my hair done, I went on and paid it. Talaa is pretty cool but the momma and daughter team are a hot mess. Amy is rude and stuck up and her daughter braids to damn tight. It's very unprofessional to be speaking French and talking about customers, when you can speak good enough english in front of

them. Save your native tongue for your own time as in off the clock.. And the short helper girl, I feel bad for her, working with them clowns!!! Never again VERY unprofessional!!

I RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE!

My husband is always pissed at me for staying in african shops for 12hrs.So we just moved here and wanted my hair done.I googled it found Talaa and molad african braiding.I called both of them to compare the prices and talaa fits my budget.Molad told me micro braids is $ 220 without the hair.Talaa charges 200 including human hair.I went there and was realy impressed my this young lady attitude.Shes funny feeds, makes sure everything is ok,gives you breaks to smoke and she wasnt bothered by me wanting to watch anything on netflix. The shop was very busy but I stayed there for 6 hrs with my braids looking amazing. My husband was watching sports in a waiting area and we both left feeling great.Am saying all this because talaa is a great person with no attitude at all and I was shocked when she told me half of what she gets paid go to her foundation in africa to help needy families in her village.Take time to know your stylist and you will be impressed what they do and how they treat people in general.GREAT SALON! BRAVO TALAA GOD WILL BLESS YOU AND THOSE WHO ARE TRYING TO BRING DOWN YOUR BUSINESS WILL NEVER SUCCEED IN JESUS NAME.AMEN. BE STRONG AND THOSE CHILDREN IN AFRICA WILL BE A BLESSING TO YOU.!!

The shop states the hours are from 6am to midnight. I tried calling to schedule an appointment at 7:45am and there was no answer. If you say your hours are from 6am to midnight, I expect someone to answer the phone at 7:45 am.

To Military girl, don't knock it if someone else has a bad experience with a business. You don't know what happened that day! Just because you had a good experience does not mean angel or anyone did or will. I personally won't be calling this shop back due to the fact no one bothered to answer the phone so I can even setup an appointment. If your going to be professional, then be professional and answer the phone. I will be going to Molad African Braiding.

BEST SALON EVER .Clean clean, warm, good with children and cheap.Love love love this place!!!!!!!!!!. I can't stop talking about how awesome this place is.when I walked in I was greeted warmly and offered something to eat and drink.the women there made sure that I was comfortable at all times and my hair was done so quickly.I received small box braids that I wanted longer than normal, but they whipped through it in 4 hours (normally takes about 7-10). But I can't gush about everything and leave out the the quality of work-impeccable!!!!!!!!!!!!! The best braids that ive ever received!!!!!!!!I've never tipped a braided in my life but I definitely did this time - I WILL be going back!!!!!!!!!! Thank you talaa

Military girl and friends!!!!!...

Military girl and friends!!!!!!!!!

Nobody is perfect and you should give talaa a credit for opening a new brand shop. For you #Angel love# to say that after getting your hair done is really horrific. How dare you lie on YP? I went there to get done my hair done at 5am in the morning and didnt have any problem at all.I send 8 of my military friends and they all came back with happy and will still go back.Did you even care to ask why she was late or where you even there at first? I understand you might be molad african braiding who has been spreading lies about talaa due to the competition shes getting.I doubt you even know this lady. Shes very kind treats all people equally and give discounts to military, students, and senior citizen and for you to come here and talk dirty makes me think your just one of the crazy jelous ladies who likes to put other salon business down since they have nothing else to do in life. She serves the homeless people food and help those in need both here in american and africa.Your a disgrace for even commenting on her page. She sells and provide hair for her clients, drinks, internet, and the list of her kindness is endless. All my 200 church ladies are getting ready for talaa to do their hair for christmas so I suggest you get a life and stop ruining other people lives.stop thinking about your self and think about the welfare of others.Peace.Oh by the way talaa is my name sake thats why am pissed.

All I can say to this Talaa is...

All I can say to this Talaa is that THIS IS MORE THAN THE WORSE OF THE WORSE BRAIDING SHOP EVER!!! The owner gave me an apt at 5:00AM to meet at one apartment, I took my kids to the babysitter to meet the apt. When I arrived at exactly the time, I called there was no answer. I kept calling for more than one hour, she didn't answer. I went home disappointedly because I had to pay the babysitter for 3 hours. At 9AM, she called me back and asked me to meet her at the shop. No apology whatsoever. This is not the first time she has done this, she did the same thing to my other two friends, she told them to come to a different apartment early in the morning, and when they arrived at the place, they called and she didn't answer. The worse thing is she never said Sorry. My rating is a big ZERO.

Talaa african salon is the great place to get your hair done in colorado springs area.I went there 5am in the morning and was done by 9:50am with super small micros. The salon is very professional and clean. All the other clients who were getting their hair done looked happy and some of them were serving our country.Cheap prices and the hair is really human and doesnt tangle.
