Abusive and Incompetent Billing Staff

We've been going here for nearly twenty years. During that time, we've changed insurance plans twice. Both times, Dublin Primary Care failed to update their records, despite our giving the front desk the new cards and alerting them that we had new coverage.

In the first instance, they continued to bill the old insurer, submitting the same claim repeatedly and never bothering to check their own files to determine why the claims were being rejected. We took the insurance cards in again and pointed out that they were billing the wrong company. After a few months, they finally got it correct.

Last June, due to a job change, we changed insurance again. At the first visit, we showed the front desk the new card, which they photocopied, and told them that our insurance had changed. This time our experience was even worse. They continued repeatedly submitting the bill to the wrong insurance company for SIX MONTHS! This, despite our taking the card back again, and making two phone calls to their billing department.

Finally, they billed the correct insurance company but the claim was rejected because it was not submitted within the contracted time.

At this point, Dublin Primary Care began sending us threating letters demanding payment. They never responded to our letter pointing out that it was their own errors that led to the account being late.

I totally agree with another reviewer, beccara929. The doctors here are awesome! But, save yourself the time and aggravation from having to deal with the incompetent and abusive billing staff by going somewhere else.

Dr. Bower is great. He is the ...

Terrible Staff!
Dr. Bower is great. He is the reason I stay at this clinic. However, I have more often than not had poor experiences with his office staff (on the FP not Peds side). These women always seem to have a chip on their collective shoulder. Rarely have I recieved a smile when I approach the desk. On my second visit to the clinic I checked in and waited for someone to acknowledge me, and the staff member curtly said "We're done here." without bothering to glance up. On the phone with them they rudely told me "how valuable Dr. Bower's time is" when I courteously called to mention that I MIGHT be 5 minutes late. If it wasn't for Dr. Bower or the kind nursing staff I'd be out of there in a second.

It used to be good. Their service has gone downhill. The rude "nurses" who take your calls need to find a new place to work. They are sour and bitter and hate helping people. Hear this as a warning if you are thinking of coming to this office.

There are a few doctors at this office that are fine, unfortunately many of the employees I've had the pleasure of speaking with during several issues I've had over the last year were not friendly and quite frankly sounded like they needed to find a new job because it sounds like they hate helping people. After several instances of incompetence shown by their "nurses" on the phone and me calling the incompetence out Dr. McCarthy calls me and tells me they are dismissing me as their patient because of all these bitter phone agents say I am mean and hateful.

She says that several times people are mean to phone agents and sweet to the doctors to get what they want. (This is how they see you.) She also stated to me that it is sad that I would threaten to post my experience anywhere because that only hurts her ...Why shouldn't I share my experience? Why is that a threat?....Unless you know in your heart you have provided the best service possible. I am trying only to advocate for my own healthcare in a professional manner. As we see what happens when you don't stay on top of things. This does not mean yelling or cursing in any way. This means pointing out the facts and inaccuracies, asking questions, challenging answers that don't make sense, informing a so-called supervisor how her people talk to patients.

I asked Dr. McCarthy if she has listened to any of the calls. She stated she doesn't have any calls recorded unfortunately but was quick to take sides and to not try to make the situation better between Doctor-Patient. Instead she accused me of trying to be mean to get what I want. I wrote an email to their office manager Eric Speers and he never got back to me.

WOW! That is fine, I am done with it and know that there is a doctor's office out there that hasn't lost sight of helping people who wouldn't mind getting my money.

Dublin Primary Care, you've just lost four patients...and hopefully anyone who decides to not visit you because of my review.

Went to 3 doctor visits with 3 different doctors, got 2 false diagnoses, spent $461 and I'm the one that told them what the problem was!

6/17/2015 9:30AM - Visit Doctor #1 for pain in left side of groin and show him swelling & redness of left ankle / calf. He checks to see if I have a hernia - no. I take a UA - no blood. Concludes that I have smaller kidney stones and possibly a blood clot on left calf area. Sends me to Doctor #2 in a different facility for a different company. 30 minutes - $90

6/17/2015 4:00PM - Visit Doctor #2 because Doctor #1 thinks I may have a blood clot. Doctor #2 puts me under an ultrasound of 30 minutes and checks my leg. Tells me that the reason my groin hurts is that the lymph nodes are swollen because of an infection in my lower leg. Doctor #2 says that they are not an actual doctor, and can not discuss the results with me. They will send back the report to Doctor #1. 30 minutes - $248

6/17/2015 5:28PM - Doctor #1's assistant leaves voicemail stating that I needed to contact the doctor's office immediately tomorrow after 8AM about the report. That I need to make an appointment with Doctor #3 regarding the negative finding of the blood clot.

6/18/2015 8:01AM - Call doctor's office. On hold for 8 minutes. Hang up.

6/18/2015 8:20AM - Call doctor's office again. On hold for 11 minutes 30 seconds. Get not so happy greeting. Can't find my file by my last name. Schedule 11AM appointment with Doctor #3.

6/18/2015 11:00AM - Meet with Doctor #3... who has no idea who I am or what report he is supposed to be looking at. Tells me it usually takes 2-3 days to get them scanned in. Asks me to tell him what I think is going on. I tell him the 36 hour history and that I think it is cellulitis, and that it looks like and feels like cellulitis. He kind of concurs and writes me a prescription for Keflax. Tells me to come back in 3 months. 25 minutes - $113

Keflax prescription price from Walmart - $4

3 doctor visits, 2 wrong diagnoses, and $461 later I'm the one giving a correct identification???

And all to get a $4 prescription!!!

Guess where I am never going again... and I will tell everyone I know to avoid this place!

Don't waste your time. After over 13 years of my family going to this office, I was sent a letter stating no longer welcome after being unhappy with Dr. Zirkle's care and providing feedback on a recent visit.

I was being seen for shortness of breathe and chest pains. After walking out of the office due Dr. Zirkle's rudeness, I received a certified letter two days later stating they would only provide emergency care for my family and I for the next 30 days, we were no longer welcome.. the cardiologist referral finally came, 6 days later.

Tried speaking with their admin, Eric.. pointless. Requested my records to transfer to a new PCP and was told to have the new PCP request or I'd have to pay a fee.

Good luck.

Horrible

This facility deserves negative stars for the unprofessional and unfriendly staff. The first and last time I went there, they were so unfriendly and did not communicate well. When you call you're always on hold for 20 minutes or longer. If you like that type of service, then by all means try it out. Waste of my time!

Horrible staff great docs

The staff is rude and less than helpful. I only come back here because the doctors are great. But even that won't keep me here forever. There is just so much you can take.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff

My neighbor referred me to Dublin Primary Care pediatricians when my family and I moved out here two years ago from CA. I am so glad that I followed through with her suggestion! Dr. Nancy Dawson has been our pediatrician for my 3 yr old son and 18 month old daughter. She is friendly, knowledgeable, caring, and supportive. She listens to my concerns and addresses them with professionalism and detailed suggestions. She also provides insight as to the respective milestones that my children should be attaining. My children are treated like human beings and not just a "number" or "quota". Also, the nurses are professional, personable, and knowledgeable, as well. Waiting time to see the pediatricians are not long.
