I would never recommend purchasing a vehicle from Snyder's. I visited them in November 2012 to buy a 2006 Subaru Forester after seeing an ad on Car Gurus that they had marked down this vehicle for a "Special Black Friday Discount." After driving an hour from Syracuse, the owner told me the car I was looking at wasn't the car that was discounted. When I had him look up the ad in front of me, he agreed to give it to me for that price. A couple weeks after I bought the vehicle, the head gasket blew, the weekend before Christmas. The owner claimed the mileage on it was past the NY lemon law (never provided proof) and the "best" he would do was split all the repair costs with me and pay for a rental for my holiday travels if I towed it an hour back to his service center. I took his offer and came back to the service center a week later when I received a call that it was ready for pick-up. When I arrived I was told it was not ready. After driving an hour back to Syracuse and being stuck with the rental for the weekend, I received a call on New Year's Eve that I could come pick it up. I drove, again, out to Clinton, NY to be told that the bill for the repairs was three times what they originally told me and they would only be paying for half of the rental. Not only that, but my car's check engine light was on and the interior of the car was covered in grease. When I talked on the phone with the owner about these issues the next week, he told me that I could bring it back and they would look into the issue and fix it, promising that it would not cost me anything. After doing this once again, I picked up my car and within a week the check engine light was back on and the engine was misfiring badly enough to where it would not drive without stalling. Having become fed up with dealing with the terrible service and communication at Snyder's, I took it to Romano Subaru in Syracuse. They diagnosed the problem for me, explained exactly what was going on with my engine, and sold me dealer parts for less than I could have bought them at a local auto parts store. After making the necessary repairs myself, I have since had not issues with the vehicle, but I would certainly never go back to Snyder's for another Subaru or any service request.
