Dixie Day Spay has been a life saver -- literally a life saver! As a cat/kitten rescuer, I have been using DDS for low-cost spay/neuter, vaccine and testing procedures for three years and have been totally satisfied with their service. Dixie's pricing has allowed me to save many lives and give the cats and kittens that cross my path the chance at a new life and a forever home!

Happily surprised.

We adopted a sweet little Chihuahua from the local SPCA and one condition is to have him neutered. The clinic is a double wide trailer and cats and dogs roam inside and outside. But looking at them you can see they are well cared for and loved by the staff. None were sickly. Inside the AC kept it cool on a hot day and it smelled very clean. All the little animals roaming inside and out were friendly and mild tempered. Not one tried to run or bite or even growl.

Our little guy was very small...about 3 lbs.....so we were extra worried. The staff took time to talk with us and reassure our nerves. Their board showed that they had done a dog that had weighed 1 lbs no trouble at all. We dropped our little guy off at 8am and picked him up at 1:30pm. He was fully awake and just great. He doesn't even seem sore. They gave him a shot of antibiotics and a pain shot after his surgery. The vet arrived at 9am and they do the cats first so it was a quick service.

They neutered him, gave him a rabies vac, did tests, personally held him when they could, and called us to keep us updated. We got an extra heart worm test for only $15. I do not know the regular vet costs of this test but Id guess it to be about $40 if not more at other places. The $50 it cost to adopt the little guy covered the entire service except that extra heart worm test. Amazing.

We are VERY pleased and have no trouble going back when needed. Kind, professional, talented, and caring is what Id say about them and the place.

I would reccommend Dixie Day Spay to anyone! The staff is well trained and provides you with the proper take home care for your pet after it is spayed or neutered. You can have your pet fully vaccinated and checked for heartworms at the time of surgery at an affordable price. If your pet needs medical attention, they will direct you to your animal hospital of choice. I have had many of my orphan animals spayed, neutered and vaccinated with a heartworm check and all have had a speedy recover without any problems. Cleveland has been in need of a facility such as Dixie Day Spay, and it was because of the diligence and hard work of Betti that it all became possible. Not only does Dixie Day provide low cost spaying and neutering, but the also help pull the animals from the local shelter and make it possible for these animals to get adopted into good homes, where otherwise, these healthy animals stand a chance of being killed due to overcorwding in the shelters. Cleveland Tennessee is fortunate to have such a clinic with a staff that cares for our pets! God Bless Dixie Day Spay with many more years of service to our community!

Dixie Day Spay is a nonprofit, low cost Spay/neuter clinic serving the needs of many in Bradley County. To keep cost as low as possible they have converted a doublewide trailer for their clinic. It is kept as clean and orderly as any other vet clinic I have visited.

There are adoptable animals roaming about for potential adopters to visit with. There priorities are to decrease the euthanasa rate in this county by preventing unwanted litters of puppies and kittens. No one else has ever tried to stop this sensless killing of healthy animals in Bradley County. From the Animal Control statistics I have seen they are well on their way to success. I have taken many cats and dogs to Dixie Day Spay and never had an issue with any of them. The surgerys are completed on time , every time. My animals are always clean and very well cared for on pickup. The staff is excellent and super friendly. And they treat every pet as they would their own. I personally have worked for a full service vets office and witnessed sedated, surgery prepped animals waiting for nearly an hour to have the vet start their surgery. For those who may not know, this can be very dangerous for your pet. The animal is kept under anesthesia until it is convenient for the vet to start their surgery. THIS NEVER HAPPENS AT DIXIE. I have been their so many times and and I have never seen this type of NEGLECT. Keep up the great work DIXIE.

I have fostered and rescued many dogs and cats in the 3.5 years that I have been using Dixie Day Spay and every last one of them was spayed, neutered, vaccinated, heartworm or Feline Leukemia tested there. I have never had any problems and all my personal and rescue babies are as healthy as they should be. As a former vet tech I have volunteered there in the past and assisted during surgery days and still volunteer there for monthly vaccine clinics. Their surgery suite is a clean and sterile environment. Their vet and vet tech staff are trained and professional. It may not be a million dollar, shiny lobby - but the greetings that you receive there from both the front desk staff and and the 4 legged greeters are better than any I have ever received from a full service clinic. Dixie Day Spay is just what the name implies - a spay/neuter clinic. If you can afford to have all your vetting done at a full service vet - please do so! That leaves more appointments open for those of us that are trying to rescue strays and homeless pets from the pound and for those that cannot afford a full service vet - but want to do the responsible thing and have their pet spayed or neutered.

Dixie Day Spay has made it possible for me to take in stray and unwanted dogs to find homes for. If it were not for them, it would be impossible to pay the high cost that a regular animal hospital would want to charge to spay, neuter and vaccinateand heartworm check these poor orphans. They are one of the best clinics to go to and you never see anyone turned away for lack of money to pay for the services. They are not here to replace your regular veterinarian, but to make it afordable for people to get their pets spayed and neutered and to make sure they stay current with the vaccinations and heartworm checks. You may never meet a stranger at Dixie Day Spay, because you are welcomed with a warm greeting and your voice is always heard. THANK YOU TO BETTI AND EVERYONE THAT I HAVE BEEN SO LUCKY TO MEET DURING MY VISITS AT DIXIE DAY SPAY. GOD BLESS AMERICA AND ALL OF GODS LITTLE CANINE AND FELINE ANGELS!

Wonderful Establishment

Everyone here really cares about the animals. It has the most wonderful atmosphere. It doesn't bother me at all to see food in food bowls, the animals need to be fed. I don't mind smelling animal smells because that would happen at any type of animal clinic. I've been to several and I have never not smelled animal smells there. I think Dixie Day Spay should be applauded for stepping up and taking care of stray animals and animals dropped off on them. I have had about fifteen animals spayed and neutered at Dixie. Some of them were personal pets, others were fosters. Every single one of them had a very successful surgery. They all healed very quickly and had no issues. I highly recommend Dixie Day Spay to anyone. All my friends and family love Dixie.

Dixie Day Spay has performed more than 25,000 spay/neuter surgeries since opening October, 2009. We are in a modular building that was purchased for $1000 and sits on donated property.

The clinic is kept clean and the surgical area is sterile. We have three licensed, caring and compassionate veterinarians on staff - each with years of high-volume spay/neuter experience. We welcome anyone at anytime to tour our facility.

We are located next to a mobile home park with many transient residents. The animals they leave find their way here where they find food, water and shelter.

Animals in the clinic - we do our best to care for the multitudes of cats and kittens that are left at our door. If a food bowl has food in it we suppose you could say it was dirty. We prefer these accusations as to hungry animals.

We are happy to allow Cleveland for a No Kill City (a group that has lower the kill rate at Animal Control from 86% to below 10%) to use our extra kennels and crates. It is a convenience to them and we are pressed to understand why it would be offensive to anyone.

If we were ten minutes late opening the door we apologize. Granny, our 12 year old Chihuahua who was rescued from Animal Control is allowed to nap on our desks - or anywhere else she pleases.

We urge those who can afford a full-service veterinary hospital to please schedule their appointments there and leave our available appointments open for those who can't.
