Based in Cleveland, University Settlement is a nonprofit social service agency that serves the needs of the community with a variety of social programs for children, families and seniors. The child care programs include 21st Century Learning Center and Kids Around Day Care that offers recreational and educational programs before and after school and child care services for children, ages 2 to 12. Its senior services, includes adult day care, mead house, multipurpose senior center and homebound lunch programs. The family programs offered by University Settlement includes a neighborhood family to family program, healthy fathering initiative, early childhood parenting program, hunger center, transitional housing and youth program. The agency was established in 1926 by the Western Reserve University to help immigrants from Eastern Europe settle in Cleveland. It has more than 50 full-and part-time staff, supplemented by over 1,500 volunteers. It operates more than 20 main programs that serve over 12,000 people every year.
