I recently stayed at the Ritz, which wasn't all it was cracked up to be in the first place. The room was nothing special, just like any other hotel room. The thing that really agrivated me was the unauthorized $100 charge that I wasn't informed about. The charge was to cover anything used while at the hotel, damage, snacks, ect.. It was a "hold" that I was never informed of! This "hold" put my bank account into overdraft, which caused several overdraft fees. When I talked to the accounting department, they were very rude! They gave me the run around, told me I had to call my bank to release the chage. My bank never heard of these procedures before, so they gave the ritz rep an 800 number to call, and request the charge to be lifted. This charge sits in your account for 3-5 days.. Very poor customer service! No communication whatsoever! Regardless of that, the room was not worth the price, even with the discount.

This elegant dining destination is five star everything - food, service and price. A special place for a special occasion.
