The Emerald Necklace Inn & Tea Room is one of Cleveland's historic treasures. It was built in 1863 during the Civil War and was operated by the Gilles family of Fairview Park as the first County General Store in the area. Lovely surprise in my own backyard

I found out about the Inn while doing an internet search for local tea rooms. I was impressed by the selection of teas on their website and decided to stop in their gift shop for Christmas present ideas. The owner, Gloria and another employee, Lori, greeted me warmly and offered many suggestions for gifts. They have a menu explaining all the tea flavors and an assortment of tea pots and serving sets for all types of people. Lori gave me a tour of the tea room and the three rooms of their inn. The views of the Metroparks are great and I liked the variety of flavored syrups for coffee in the morning in the rooms. I can see myself having a party or shower here someday and look forward to experiencing more of the Emerald Necklace.
