I got a job that required me to move cross-country FAST. I hadn’t been planning on selling my home, so it needed plenty of repairs. The list only grew thanks to the POS inspection. My realtor recommended I work with Mike for three reasons: (1) he does top-quality work, (2) he does it at a reasonable price, and (3) he’s an honest businessman.

Mike was all that and MUCH more. We ran into several unexpected issues during the process of selling my house — some hilarious, others horrifying — and he never once left me hanging. Quite the opposite: he and his team got jobs done at record speed, and he attended every home inspection on my behalf (I was already in another state) just to make sure everything went off without a hitch.

A couple weeks before closing, an inspector discovered a **massive** plumbing issue that had been concealed and passed on to me by a previous owner. Mike was so appalled by what he saw that he fixed it at cost. That’s the kind of businessman Mike is: he genuinely cares about his clients. He earned every penny I gave him, and I’ve already recommended him to multiple colleagues. 10/10, folks. Would recommend.

I called Midtown Handyman - Discount Home Repair because I was interested in having some work done in my home (some minor electrical and plumbing repairs, and some drywall and painting). They were quick to respond and were detailed in explaining how they would complete the repairs. They were extremely professional and had the work done in a timely manner. I was so pleased with the work, I have them coming back out to help me remodel my home office space.

I've worked with many contractors on my Shaker Heights home but NONE of them even compare to the work ethic, efficiency and professionalism of Midtown. I trusted them to work on their own, keep in touch, and update me throughout the 4 days of their work. When something came up (and several things did - it's an old Shaker classic), they just handled it. With perseverance, creativity, and attention to detail, they just got it done, no matter what it was. I'd use them again without hesitation, and highly recommend them.

We called Midtown Handyman and Remodeling to work on some carpentry and painting for us. They hand the best price of all the quotes we received. The work
was better than expected and they were very clean! We will use them again.

My city inspector sent me a violation list which included painting carpentry and some electrical. I contacted Midtown / Discount repair service and they had come out within a day to give me an estimate on my entire list. I hired these folks and they completed the entire list and coordinated with the city inspector to ensure I pass 100%. I am very happy with their services and would recommend them to anyone!

I had a list of City violations that the city inspector had sent me in regards to my property. I contacted several companies which declined the work saying that these items are too small for them to bother. I contacted Midtown/Discount Repair and they were more than happy to come out. They gave me a quotes on all my violations which included carpentry, painting and some electrical. These guys did a fantastic job and completing the repairs. I am very happy with the work and would recommend these guys for this type of handyman repairs.

Hired discount home repair service to do a large list of City violations on my rental property and I could not be happier! They came out within a couple of days to give me a quote and within less than a week all my violations were corrected! I certainly would recommend these guys to anyone that has investment properties or rentals.

Needed a ton of city violations repaired on a rental property I called to make an appointment they came out the next day and gave me a detailed cost estimate. These contractors did a great job very fast completion time they delt with the city inspector to make sure all violations passed. We are very satisfied with the whole process would definitely recommend these contractors.

2019 review Mike's work ethic, reliability and professionalism went downhill in 2019. I suspected that there were issues because projects were taking a long time. I offered to get him help. He said no. Basically my properties deteriorated over the last 8 months. Necessary repairs were not completed. Tenants were living with sewage in the basement, holes in the ceiling from plumbing issues upstairs, electricity not working and the list goes on. In addition Mike owes me money from rents that he collected. He does not have the funds to pay me back. Guess what, he used my trust fund money for other purposes. I have a law suit in progress.

2017 review 5 stars. I have used Midtown Handyman for several rental properties over the last 1 1/2 years. I have not seen any of the properties that I purchased, so put a lot of trust in them. I could not have been more pleased with the professionalism, quality of work and pricing. Mike has now become my property manager for these properties as well. Midtown treats my properties as if they were their own. I plan to use Midtown Handyman for as long as I own these properties.

I needed some repairs done to my home before the Easter Holiday as I was having guests over and a friend of mine recommended Midtown Handyman & Remodeling. I called them to have some work done in my living room and to upgrade my bathroom. They did a great job in my living room and exceeded my expectations in the bathroom. I received several compliments from my guests and referred Midtown to a few of my guests as well. They were very courteous and professional and I will certainly use them in the future.

Last summer we hired Midtown Handyman & Remodeling to remodel our small bathroom. We would never recommend them to anyone! What was supposed to be a 2-1/2 week job went into 4 weeks, and because of a time crunch for them to finish, Mike promised us that he would return to fix the many issues (numerous uneven tiles/walls, broken tile, un-grouted & un-caulked areas). We spent extra on marble tile to frame a window which they put on top of other tile, needless to say sagged and is very uneven (which he saw before leaving the job). We have tried contacting Mike since February (email, phone calls, texts) with no response from him at all. We trusted Mike to his word and now are very disappointed not only of the (amateur looking) finished job, but in him as well. Instead of being able to enjoy our new bathroom, we now have to hire a professional contractor to fix the many issues at additional cost to us.

Before happening upon Midtown, having inspections done to my two rental properties was a nightmare. Shoddy repair work done by unreliable repairmen left me with a huge mess every time. I don't have to worry anymore. I tell midtown what I need done and they handle it. I don't even need to check on them. No worries, just reliable work every time! I would give them 10 stars if I could.

Used Midtown for many things pertaining to my basement. Needed work done on my walls because of moisture and my hot water tank went as well. Called midtown and they were out quickly to do an estimate and take care of the issues. I went with them because if price and quality of work.They exceeded all of my expectations from the timeliness of the job as well as the way the job was done. They cleaned up and now it as if nothing ever happened. Back to normal. Could not thank them enough and will continue to use them for everything.

I recently had a lengthy to do list that accumulated over the long winter we just had. I called Midtown Handyman to see if they could take care of the list for me. They got me into the schedule rather quickly and worked around my schedule. I was very impressed not only with their work but also their price and quick turnaround! I have already hired them to redo my half bath and to upgrade my kitchen as well because of the great work they did.

I was in need of a handyman to do several projects around my home. These included painting, carpentry, electrical, plumbing and some tile work. Not knowing who to call because I didn't want to hire several different contractors, I called Midtown Handyman & Remodeling. I had to leave a message, but they returned my call the same day. They said that they did all that I needed to have completed and more. I set up an estimate and the technician came out, evaluated all the work I needed to have completed and then I was emailed an estimate within 2 days. I went ahead and hired them to do the work and couldn't be happier. They were very thorough and professional. They did a terrific job, kept me updated on how the project was coming along and cleaned up after themselves every day. I have received several compliments on the new areas of my home and have referred Midtown Handyman & Remodeling to a few of my friends and co-workers who were looking to have work done at their homes as well. I would not hesitate to contact them again in the future.

I hired this company to do some repairs at my residence and they did a fantastic job. I was so impressed with the work that I decided to use them for my rental property as well. They came out quickly and gave me a very reasonable estimate which completely fit my budget. Not only did they pull the permits, but they scheduled and met with the inspectors as well. All the work passed with flying colors. They are extremely professional and explain the work to be done throughly. I was impressed with them from start to finish! I will certainly use them again in the future for all my repairs & projects and will recommend them to my family and friends!

This company is very good at the repairs that they do and are extremely professional. I was very impressed with the service I received not only from the initial phone call, but with the estimate I received and the work as well. I needed several city violations corrected and they came and gave me a reasonable estimate which fit my budget. They also were in contact with the city in regards to the permits and inspections.
