As a fellowship-trained neurosurgical oncologist, I am excited to be a part of the expansion at St. Luke’s Brain and Spine Tumor Center. I have been devoted to treating patients with brain tumors since I was a medical student, completing research fellowships in laboratories dedicated to developing more therapeutic options for patients with glioblastoma. Through my research experience at the National Institutes of Health and clinical fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, I have become even more dedicated and passionate about caring for patients with complex neurosurgical issues. I obtained my medical degree at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas. Subsequently, I completed my residency training in neurosurgery at the Cleveland Clinic. Then I completed a fellowship in neurosurgical oncology, in both brain and spine, at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. I was fortunate to have trained at world-renowned and high-volume centers, where I feel confident in my depth of knowledge in managing a wide spectrum of neurosurgical conditions including brain tumors, spinal tumors, degenerative spine diseases, epilepsy, and neurotrauma. During residency and fellowship, I was also involved with developing protocols to incorporate new technologies in neurosurgery, such as laser ablation for treatment of brain lesions as well as brachytherapy for local disease control of brain tumors. I have always enjoyed operating on both the brain and the spine, and I look forward to helping patients with any neurosurgical needs.
