Company Mission: How to rip off the consumer

I went to this furniture store & saw something that I like. Placed the items in layaway 10/1/10. On 10/6/10, I had to be hospitalized, had surgery (carotid artery surgery). I didn't get discharged until 10/8/10. I went back to the Daniel's 10/11/10 & 10/12/10 stating that I was hospitalized & didn't want the furniture & was requesting my deposit back. This company is so low down dirty with no intergity refuse to give my refund back because I did not contact them within 5 days(this is what they inform my bank). The bank informed me because their policy is that you have to contact them within 5 days, my claims dispute was denied & it's up to the furniture store to refund my monies if I have verification of my hospitalization, which I do, but apparently this company does not care. Apparently it's more important to them to rip off the consumer.
