Applewood Centers provides behavioral health care and social services designed to help children, youth and their families achieve stability and self-sufficiency. Its intake service links consumers with the most appropriate agency services and redirects individuals who do not meet the center s admission criteria to other community resources. Its assessment service ensures that each individual is assigned the best course of treatment. The center s outpatient service provides counseling for children up to 18 years and their families, psychiatry including psychiatric evaluation, medication management and consultation with primary care physicians regarding psychiatric medication, partial hospitalization and day treatment. It offers residential treatment for children between the ages of five to 14 with severe emotional and behavioral difficulties and provides shelter, education and interventions designed for youth at risk of repeating criminal offenses. The center provides adoption services and an alternative high school experience. Applewood Centers has its clinical facilities, school and administrative offices in Cleveland.
