My mom went to 5 shops across Northeast Ohio trying to find a wig that made her feel human while she goes through chemo. Everywhere she went, sales people were INCREDIBLY insensitive, pushy, disinterested, unknowledgeable, and/or overpriced. That's what we learned to expect from this endeavor.

The second we were greeted by the older man at Ann's Wig Shop, we could tell this one would be different. He listened to what she wanted, grabbed two wigs, and sat her down. She was on the fence about the second one, but then he offered to customize it for her, thinning out parts that were too full for her frame, with no obligation or expectation to buy at all! He made us feel comfortable, asked about her treatment and shared his own family's struggles with cancer. He explained where he was thinning and how it would suit her needs better - and when he was done, it was EXACTLY what she wanted! She loved it! She felt like herself again. And THEN he offered to work the same magic on the Cleveland Clinic freebie wig she had walked in with!

She walked out of there with two wigs that made her feel good, for less than half of what she was being sold at other shops for the exact same monofilament synthetic hair.

This man made a really difficult time for my mom SO much easier, and he did it with grace and kindness. That's what one should expect from wig shopping. I won't recommend any of the other stores we went to, but I'll sing the praises of Ann's Wig Shop to anyone who will listen.

i recently purchased a wig from Ann's when I was diagnosed with cancer. I recently started my chemo and tried on the wig I purchased and really wanted something else. Called and asked if I could exchange and maybe add to the purchase. As I did not feel comfortable with this wig. The wig was not worn and still have the tags attached. The owner flatly refused to work with me. Advised I had the wig to long. I shouldn't have bought it so soon after my diagnosis but I was nervous about my upcoming chemo. I am disappointed something couldn't be worked out. I did spend $135. Needless to say, I am extremely disappointed with them. Just be aware.
