3rd generation family business committed to the community. Tires aren’t fun to buy but Henise makes it less painful.

Disappointed last visit on tire installation/alignment. Gotten tires here for 10 years for fleet of work trucks and 2 personal vehicles. Price jumped from $500-$800 range in 3 years. I bought tires online for $400 range after asking how much to get them mounted. They needed to replace a bolt during alignment for $70, and got a couple different stories on why (One person said it wasn't long enough, that they needed an extra degree of clearance, whereas another said the bolt was seized up and it broke trying to loosen it. Person at front desk was snarky, said they "never give out alignment results" though I had always received them in the past. The old tires had no visible uneven where, so I wondered that the alignment even needed changed. Seemed like they were hiding something. Heard from a few other parties after the fact they've had customer service issues. Thought maybe since I bought tires elsewhere to have them mount they were soaking me.

Mr. Henise,

Hello. I took my 2004 Mazda 3 into the Cleona shop on Tuesday for an alignment appointment. I also mentioned that I would like a headlight adjustment if they offered them and they mentioned they do. Prior to setting up the appointment I did mention that my car was on lowering springs. The staff who setup the appointment did not ask for a height of the car or mention any issues so I figured that they have dealt with lowered cars before. I dropped the car off the night before because I did not need it the next day. Anyway, they could not perform the alignment because the car was too low to drive up on to their alignment rack so they proceeded to adjust the headlights. Apparently the headlights were duct taped in. They spent 2.5 hours of labor trying to fix them. Now, I’m no mechanic, by a long shot, but what could possibly take 2.5 hours to adjust a headlight. They should have looked at the duct tape and said they couldn’t do it. I sent my girlfriend to pay for it and pick up my keys and they charged me $63! $63 for a headlight adjustment!?!? I asked the clerk why it was so much and he got all snappy telling me “they had over 2.5 hours of labor in to fix it, when we should have left it alone.” I wish they would have left it alone, I would have done it myself had I known it would cost me that much.

The appointment was for 9:00AM and I only received a call at 1:20PM telling me that my car is finished. What did they do for 4.5 hours while I had no car? No idea. Sadly, all of this is still not the worst part. So I picked the car up just before dark and I drove it home and I heard a scraping sound, so I pulled over. I look under the front bumper of my car and I realize the plastic underbody cover is broken in 3 spots and was dragging on the road. I figured they must have tried to drive it up the alignment rack ramps and it bottomed out and they snapped the plastic/bolts holding it up. Guess it’s yet another thing I’ll try to get taken care of elsewhere. This is not how a professional company who has been operating for over 50 years is supposed to treat their customers. It’s a shame because I currently live in Annville and Henise is very close, but I think I will take a bit longer drive and go somewhere I know they won’t trash my car or swindle my money.

It has been over a month since this email was sent and go figure, no response. What a bunch of cowardly crooks. I did forget to mention in the email however that a month before I took the car into the shop I sent an email to the shop requesting a quote and now that I think about it, I haven't heard back from that yet either. Terrible customer service, shotty service on the few things they do offer, untimely, and unprofessional in almost every manner.

In no case would I recommend this garage to you for your minor or complex repairs/adjustments, unless you like paying to be dicked around.

UPDATE:

Bumper is loose as a result of the alignment rack clearance issue.
