This review is for Stafford Jewelers.



My fiancé purchased a setting, diamonds, and wedding band from Stafford Jeweler’s Kenwood mall location. The finished rings were given to him in January of 2014. They were beautiful and we felt we received a fair/reasonable price. Not fantastic, but we didn’t feel like he got ripped off. He chose a beautiful diamond, setting, and band. I have no complaints about the quality of the diamond, setting, or wedding band once it was set, sized, and given to my fiancé.



However, six months later, I am experiencing several difficulties and defects in workmanship. My diamonds have come loose several times, only to be tightened with pliers and marks left on the prongs of my ring. The place where the ring was sized became rough and uncomfortable. I brought the ring to Stafford. After several attempts, the rough spot has still not been resolved. The jeweler seems to be frustrated with me even though I feel this is a defect in workmanship that they should resolve. And after three trips to Stafford this week alone, the issue has still not been resolved.



Stones that were loose were not tightened on several occasions; things that they said were replaced were not replaced; there are plier marks on my prongs from where they were tightened; my band was left misshaped and thin from grinding/trying to remove the rough spots.



Stafford Jewelers did not offer a warranty when this jewelry was purchased. I feel now that it is because they don’t stand behind their work when something goes wrong.



To be clear let me emphasize this: we feel we received a descent price on the diamond, setting, and wedding band. The quality of the work and jewelry was excellent upon purchase and once the jewelry was set, sized, and returned to us.



What was NOT excellent is the customer service once the transaction was complete. I feel that once they made the sale and were under no obligation due to a lack of a warranty, the customer service faltered.



I feel that Stafford Jewelers is in the business of selling jewelry and that is all. I feel that they are not interested in maintaining customer relations or following through with repairs/maintenance. For the amount of money my fiancé paid, I would expect a defect in workmanship to be corrected without dishonesty, runaround, or a dismissive attitude.



I am disappointed in the customer service we have received since our purchase. I will not make another purchase from Stafford Jewelers. I will not recommend Stafford Jewelers to family, friends, acquaintances, or strangers. I will not take my jewelry to Stafford Jewelers for further repair or maintenance.
