My brother and I went for a drive a year ago and were hit head-on by a distracted driver. Tom suffered TBI (traumatic brain injury) despite airbags and a seat belt. He's now in assisted living and is set for life thanks to James's determination to see justice done. I'll always be forever grateful.

I used to work at a coffee shop that was always busy with customers so we were making new pots of coffee constantly. No one, including me that worked there knew that the glass of a coffee pot could think out after repeatedly being left on the burner. After waiting for the entire pot to brew I picked it up to pour into a customers cup and the bottom of the coffee pot shattered sending boiling hot coffee onto my feet and into my shoes. The had to end up having skin graphing done to restore damaged tissues to the top of my feet. While I was covered under worker's comp for the accident, they only covered to much. I received compensation for my injuries, time out of work, and future pain from my permanent nerve damage.

As a baby shower gift I was given a beautiful new infant swing for my daughter. I turned and my baby was on the tile floor facing down with the seat portion of the swing on top of her. I was one of those people that continually thought that won't happen to me. until it did. It was Sunday and I was riding with my daughter to the store.
