For more than 20 years, Coryan founder, Jim Lockwood, worked as a nonprofit Executive Director and administrator. In 2003 Jim became more interested in the Internet as a resource and tool for his organization. After several disappointing experiences with using out-of-the-box website tools and hiring a less-than-adequate web design company, Jim decided to take matters into his own hands.

In 2006, Jim began learning how to program and develop websites for the Internet. His passion for attractive design that was both functional and accessible let him to a gradual shift is careers.  In 2010 Jim decided that creating quality, custom websites for others was what he wanted to do.

Coryan Web Design is the result of that decision. The work at Coryan is always guided by the specific goals of the organization we are building for. The website for a local church shouldn't look and function like the website for a regional food bank. And even though small businesses are all trying to make a profit, their individual strategies must be supported by their website.  After 20 years of running nonprofit businesses, Jim understands that websites need to meet important organizational goals.
