Dr. Cardenas you only get 1 star and I'm being nice. Being a resident of Pilsen for over 40 years and thinking that you became a Dr. to serve the humanity/community and took a oath to help the sick I ran into a big problem with your office today. I recently within the last two years became unemployed and had the medicaid card which for the record is the only time in my life I've had it. I made an appointment 12/21/15 to have you see me so I can get me my diabetes prescription this appointment was today 12/23/15 for 3pm....When I made the appointment I advised the secretary that i had medicaid ( after she asked what type of insurance I had) and she said it was ok and i didn't doubt her since I've been using this medicaid card for all me visits to your office. I made it to your office and gave the receptionist my medical card and after ten min of her being on the phone she said they no longer take the medical card! I said ok then why did you make this appointment for me? She said I don't know but we do not accept the medical card. I asked for information as far as who does? Your receptionist refused to give me any info. I asked her so what am i supposed to do? She said she didn't know and basically that was it. WOW.....your office gave me the impression that they don't care about me or anyone else that has Medicaid as insurance.Whats funny is that Mr. Cardenas you are operating in my community one of the poorest on the South side of Chicago but you choose to discriminate against the people who have the Medicaid card in the community your doing business in. Shame on your Dr. Cardenas.

If you choose to NOT accept medicaid That's your right! I recommend that you move your clinic to a more affluent area of Chicago!!

Don't set up Medicaid appointments then cancel them once the patients are in your office.

I will let everyone one know in the Pilsen blog about your practice and hope your clinic is not benefiting from any government help as you ARE not helping the community.
