BAD SERVICE!!! On 07/02/12, I ...

BAD SERVICE!!! On 07/02/12, I called the service Department at Toyota on Western (Chicago). Told Brittany my check engine light is on, along with ABS & Traction lights. She said it would cost $105 to do diagnose for engine light. And an addition $105 to do diagnosis on ABS & Traction lights. So $210 total for diagnosis. What!?!?! Why do I have to pay twice for a diagnosis? She insisted that the pricing was correct, so I asked to speak to the manager, she put me on hold. She got back on the phone and said that they will only charge me for one diagnostics test. I said thank you but will call you back. Husband advised me to go to Autozone for free diagnostic test. Autozone said Oxygen Sensor. Called back Toyota on Western and asked for specific pricing. Spoke with parts department, part not in stock, needs to be ordered. I hung up, call other repair places not affiliated with Toyota for estimates but no one has oxygen sensor. So I call back Toyota on Western and I spoke to the manager (Frank). Asked him why they were trying to charge me twice for diagnostics. He said that sometimes two tests needs to be done??? I say ok, possibly a misunderstanding? Frank told me he would order part and have it next morning,no problem, @ warehouse and asked me to be at Toyota @t 9am (07/03/12). I show up at Toyota on Western the next day and have a seat in their waiting room while they run diagnostic test. Results came back as Autozone. Lewis tells me my oxygen sensor needs to be replaced. I tell him, yes I know. He said he does not have part, needs to order. WHAT? I spoke to Frank (the Manager) He told me he ordered part and be here 9am on 07/03/12! Lewis went to double check but no part!!! I address Frank the Manager, where is part??? He said he can have someone go pick up the part @ Grossinger Toyota!!! But it would take a long time. Why was the part not picked up prior to my arrival?? Frank asked me to be there at 9am! At this point I decided I was done dealing with Toyota on Western. Their customer service was a big disappointment. Trying to charge me twice for diagnostic and not having the part on time. So I got stuck paying Toyota on Western $105 for diagnostic est! And when I tried to get the paper work, the actual quote with part # and all the specifics, I was given an extremely hard time. They didn't even want to hand over the diagnostic results! THE TEST I PAID FOR!!!!!

I called another Toyota (Midtown) and asked why Toyota on Western would try to charge me twice. Alex said my Engine light triggered the ABS and Traction lights to come on, so Toyota on Western should NOT have tried to charge me twice for diagnostics test. The only other time a customer would pay for a separate diagnostics test is for the A/C, which has absolutely nothing to do with Engine, ABS & Traction. Never going to Toyota on Western again!
