I tried to buy some tiles the other day and it was extremely difficult to get a price from them. Then they tried to switch me to a different tile maker that they are exclusive with. No wonder when I finally got a price on the tile I wanted they were 20% more expensive than a vendor in the suburbs. In their set up a customer seems to pay for the "discount" (starting with a mark up) that they bestow to designers and such, their Labrador-retrievers.

This is the opposite experience I had at an other store near by. No better but different. Here you have miles of tiles to look at but the help is abysmal. Ask them the manufacturer

's name of a mosaic installed on the floor and no one knows. Ask them for a price and they have like a headache, they look at you in the eyes, embarrassed. It looks like they have at least 2 prices and you overpay if you are not an Interior designer (no one discount from their margins in my experience). In any case their selection is kind of bland, not very interesting.
