Threshold is a nonprofit, educational and support organization for adults who have an interest in sadism and masochism and other activities involved in the safe and consensual exchange of power. It provides forums to promote greater understanding of issues within the community. Threshold seeks to provide a sense of community for members by organizing a variety of educational and social events. The organization provides printed literature and volunteer staffers to answer questions, offer basic guidance and generally demystify what is sometimes misunderstood by public. Additionally, it offers an outreach panel made up of club members that often speaks at local colleges and provides information about its lifestyle. Threshold is totally run by volunteers with no paid staff.
