I underwent surgery last week at 900 N. Michigan and I must say, it surpassed all of my expectations. I was extremely nervous going into it and the friendly staff did an excellent job calming my fears and reassuring me. The docs that I met were also very nice and welcoming. By the end of the day, I felt very relieved to have had such great and attentive care.

My surgical experience was the best a patient could ask for—very attentive, personable, and efficient staff, also very timely. I’ve never had another experience like it sadly. Thanks for everything.

I had a procedure (spinal injections with sedation) at this facility a few days ago and just wanted to write a review that counterbalances the 2 very negative ones on this sight, in order to reassure potential users of the facility that my experience did not at all reflect these negative views. Frankly, it was frightening to read such negative reviews the day before my procedure, without others to provide a more balanced picture. No doubt, many of us who have unremarkable experiences just do not bother to write reviews. In my case, all of the staff at this facility behaved with civility and professionalism, despite the sense that they seemed a bit rushed and on a fairly tight schedule (this is the norm, I think, in most medical offices). My waiting times were reasonable. The facilities seemed clean and well-run, and the staff seemed pleasant and professional, that is, well within the norm of my experience elsewhere (including the University of Chicago Hospitals). I would urge patients to be alert about the procedure that they will be receiving because there was a moment or two, when I spoke to the doctor before being ushered into the surgical room, during which he was confused about the procedure I was receiving because he had apparently misread the schedule of procedures. In other words, even when the staff is of the highest expertise and good intentions, a patient should be double-checking that an inadvertent mistake isn't made. My only recommendation to the staff, who called on the Monday following my procedure (my procedure was on a Saturday), was that they offer some ibuprofen for the expected pain after spinal injections before the patient leaves the premises. I had a half-hour ride to get home and the discomfort was very acute by the time I reached home. Several ibuprofens and rest took care of it, however. In conclusion, I would not hesitate to use this facility again, and I just wish I had not been made unnecessarily anxious by several very negative reviews, taken in isolation, the day before my procedure.

The staff at 900 N Surgery Center was very unprofessional. I would never recommend this facility to anyone. The preoperative phone call should have given some indication fof what I was in for. The nurse did not have any of my information correct, she had my show time for after my surgery was scheduled to take place and she was very rude. Once I arrived at the facility, I had to wait over an 1.5 hours to be seen. Once I had a bed, it took another hour just to get a pillow. After surgery, I was told to put my clothes on with no assistance and then I was discharged without any post operative care directions or paperwork! I would have gotten much better care from any local hospital or urgent care center for that matter. I would not recommend this facility to my worst enemy.
