Was constantly placed on hold, person answering the phone place me on hold to take a messageafter calling back a third time in 10 minutes.

So I've been renting from T-B for a little over a month now, and the rate of repairs in this place is essentially nonexistent. There were several problems with the place moving in, and I was told they were going to be taken care of, but so far it's been like pulling teeth. Something as simple as putting a handle on my refrigerator door seems like it's never going to happen, while I've pretty much given up on them replacing a windowpane glass or nailing down the screens of my bedroom window, which I told them is a security concern. Usually the response you get for something you'd like to get fixed is, "Well, this isn't a priority right now. We're busy." Um, thanks. Excuse me while I try to kill a few more spiders crawling in my kitchen. And as for the response posted here from the company, you've basically dismissed the legitimate concerns of your tenants who pay rent just to make up nonsense excuses for yourself. Maybe you could try to actually address these concerns properly.

I have rented from Teninga-Bergstrom for the last 10 years and have had some minor problems, of which they took care of right away. These other comments I read were surprising and disturbing to me. I think each owner of the properties they manage has alotto do with how the property is managed and cared for. My building is in pretty good shape and my apartment is as well. I wish you all better luck and success with your apartments.

I am a building owner and I was contemplating hiring Teninga-Bergstrom to manage my building. I currently don't have any problems as described in your reviews and I don't want them. Thank you for being candid in your reviews. I will seek property management from another source!

i have been a tenant of teninga bergstrom for about 1 yr now. the first 3 months i stayed there no exterminator came out. then when he finally started coming to my apartment he only puts some brown stuff in the corners of kitchne cabinet and bathroom cabinet and leaves. when i told him i had spiders, thousand leggers and ants he gave a two rat traps. i had to call the city inspectors and do multiple repair and decductions from rent for repairs i had to get done on the apartment. i have gaps in my floors between walls and base boards, the previous tenant left holes in three doors in the apartment and there are cracks in my wood floors that was filled with wood putty by maintance man. i've been waiting a yr on a screen for my sons bedroom window. please think twice about renting from them. they will tell u all kinds of things to get u in the apartment. if it's not what you want before you move in then dont rent with them. only gave 1 star cause i had to rate it or i couldnt post.

There's nothing prideful about Teninga & Bergstrom management of their apartment building. I can't speak for all of their properties, but I can speak on the one where I reside. Where to start?*Mice. I have complained on serveral occassions about the mice that are running through my apartment. The fact that I have overcome my fear of mice because of the many that I've had to kill and dispose of is amazing.*The electrical problem. I was told that my entire apartment needs to be rewired. That was 3 months ago. I am still "waiting" on that call as to when the electrician will be back to fix this problem.*The fact that I have complained 3 times about my bathroom ceiling leaking seems not much of a concern for Teninga & Bergstrom. As of today it'll make 7 mons since the 1st complaint with 1 poor attempt on their part to "fix" the issue.*One thing that Teninga & Bergstrom can be proud of is the exterminator that comes faithfully every month. But even that is distasteful.

Have had all kinds of noise all hours of the night in the apartment above me. Have called the office 3 times and no return call. Have talked to th man who takes care of the building several times...no help.

Worse management company in the state of ILLINOIS! I rented an apartment under their management and it was the biggest mistake that I have ever made. They represent TRUE SLUMLORDS! My apartment was rat infested, and lacked hot water. Additionally, the plumbing was screwed up and the back porch was dangerous. Rose Lewis, the landlord, did not address any of these problems. Her explanation was that it would be too costly to make the neccesary repairs. Are you kidding me? This is a warning. DO NOT ENTER INTO A LEASE UNDER TENINGA A. BERGSTROM PROPERTY MANAGEMENT!
