Unprofessional--they never tell you in details how each items is charged, what is the cost, and they don't give a item by item quote. When Gene comes to estimate, they promise you everything, but then they don't write down in their list, so after they got your half pay, they do unfinished job and keep all the money you over paid.

I was highly upset with my experience with Sparkle Painting & Construction. My experience with Sparkle Painting Company wasn't great from the beginning. We had Gene come in to give us a consultation and quote. After a day or so, they did get back to us but quoted the wrong thing. We had requested a quote for living room built-ins plus paint/trim as well as recessed lighting. These details were specified during the initial walk-through but all seemed to slip through. But trusting Gene and his company, we spoke face to face again and agreed on a price for everything we had asked for. Although we verbally agreed on a number of specifics including trim (crown molding) from the beginning -- the company's disorganization led to many details that were not specified completely. After a few weeks of work...it was evident that we had to babysit every step of the process. Why go with a specialty paint company when the quality of their work leaves so much to be desired? Why should we have to point out the spots where the old paint shows through? Or the cracks around the window frames that were not taken care of? Or the dripping? In addition to the poor quality of work, it was difficult to get a hold of the company. We had wanted to plan every day ahead of time but Gene said things would be fine and so we trusted them to be on top of their work. Big mistake again! Very simple work like paint and trim dragged for weeks. In the end, claiming that trim was never agreed on from the beginning, they refused to do trim (after asking us to pick out the trim at Home Depot). We found it ridiculous since it was in the conversation since the beginning. Basically, the more we worked with Sparkle, the more we realized they could not be trusted to do the work they promised or use the best quality material. I wished they would have been open and honest about everything from the beginning but this did not happen. The only good thing about our experience was working with Chris, the electrician. But in the future we will contract with him directly.
