The salad bar boasts more than 50 ingredients daily. Giant malts and milkshakes are hand scooped and come in a rainbow of colors and flavors. And, the Craft beer selection makes it easy to choose the perfect tasty beverage. Our dining room is currently closed due to COVID-19. Great atmosphere, great food, great service!

This has been a fixture in Chicago since 1971. It was great then, and it's still great now...with no signs of changing their original concept. The atmosphere is homey and informal, and the service is friendly and efficient. In fact, these combine to make the food even that much more enjoyable. The servers are attentive to your needs and make you feel like you're special. But the food is the main reason for visiting R.J. Grunt's. Everything is fresh and cooked to order. And the quality is second to none. Be prepared to use both hands on all the sandwiches, and you may have to stretch your mouth quite a bit to take them in. Everything is piled high; on the sandwich and on your plate. The variety is great, whether you prefer beef, chicken or pork. And the salad is loaded with great stuff, no matter what your taste. So take the time to visit this place and have a great dining experience. Five stars!

Great Atmosphere/Food

This restaurant is located right near the lake. It is a lettuce entertain you restaurant, but seems very different from a place like Cheesecake Factory or Grand Lux Cafe. It is a generally small place, but offers great food/prices and has an excellent salad bar. They do not serve fries, but instead chips they create that remind me of Blackie's. I would have preferred fries, but they do give you a lot of the chips.
