Provided by YP.comThis has to be the greatest Greek food we have ever had, certainly here in Chicago. The dishes at Mythos are as authentic as those quaint little Taverna's at Plaka's streets, at the base of the Acropolis in Athens.
They serve a pastichio in individual cassaroles that one can smell upon entering this restaurant. Their salads are freshly cut and large enough to share. The tomatoes were so ripe, I think someone forgot to mention to them that it is January. We swore they tasted like August tomatoes. We had a Greek sausage appetizer that blew our socks off. Juicy and fresh. We were told they have it made for them. Their spreads and saganaki were the best me and my friends have ever tasted.
This is a BYOB place, but, with crisp white linens and black cloth napkins. Table candles make for a romantic atmosphere with a friendly service. This was a great find fo us. I understand they offer outside dinning in the summer. If you haven't been there yet, make it a point to visit soon. If you already have, well then, just go on back. They are friendly and eager to please their diners, bringing service back to an otherwise fast and impersonal industry.
