The staff at Michigan Avenue Dental is awesome. I have had great experiences with Dr. James and Dr. Baima.

They are very professional & gentle hands!

My wife and I moved to Chicago last summer. We both previously had been seeing our dentist every 6 months. We both needed a dental check up this year.

I went to an office for an examination and I was told I needed 2 fillings replaced and also 1 crown and my wife needed several "old" fillings replaced. As we have always seen a dentist every six months for both a cleaning and examination, I was shocked to say the least. I talked with a friend and he suggested we go to his dental office, Michigan Avenue Dental Associates. When I booked my appointment with Michigan Avenue Dental Associates, the front staff was very considerate of our time restrictions. I was informed what would be done on my 1st visit and also knew what to bring with me on that first visit. 48 hours before my appointment, I received a confirmation call to remind me of the time and date of my appointment. When I arrived, I was greeted by the front office staff and they welcomed me to the practice.

After meeting with the dentist and discussing the reason for my visit, I was taken to the treatment room. The doctor looked at my x-rays from the previous office, did an examination, and discussed his findings. Needless to say, I did not need 2 fillings or 1 crown and the doctor explained to my wife that her fillings placed many years ago would probably hold up for another 10 years.

I was thrilled and can only say, "thank you Michigan Avenue Dental Associates." You are awesome.

I am so upset. I was scheduled to have a tooth extracted due to infection. When I checked in I was surprised by a FEE of $175 for making a call to my general physician. I was never advised of the FEE upfront. I was refused service unless I paid the FEE. I chose to take my business elsewhere. Shame on you Dr. James and Medical Ave Dental!!

Thank you Linda for recommending I change my insurance to a PPO. My HMO was terrible!!! They only covered cleanings and had restrictions on everything else. Your staff is nice and so are the doctors.

I had a whitening procedure done at Michigan Avenue Dental Associates. I prepared myself for the worst considering how extremely sensitive my teeth are. The doctor was great and examined me before we got started and answered all of my questions. In all, to my surprise, I did have some sensitivity, but the great outcome out weighted my sensitivity, no complaints. My assistant , was very patient with me and checked up on me every 5 minuites making sure I was OK. My results were fantastic. Thanks everyone at the office

This office is awesome. I tell my friends all about this office. They do good work for me. Many people go here from my job at the consulates office.

You guys changed my life!!! You changed my job status (I was transferred to a better paying position dealing with the public. I'm no longer in the back room). You changed my romantic life Dating is great now. I never realized fully how important a good smile is when it comes to dealing with other people. You changed some old fillings that had darkened some of my teeth, you gave me a pretty looking crown on my front tooth and you bleached my teeth. They look FABULOUS!!! and that is how I feel about myself now. Thank you for making me a new person.

This is the greatest dental office in the city!!! HANDS DOWN. They made me into a new man! A little bonding, a little gum reshaping, a little orthoddontics, a little reshaping of my from teeth, a little replacing old dark silver fillings, replacing some stained while plastic fillings and two porcelain crowns on my back teeth. Fantastic results!! The doctors all worked well together, the treatments were seamless since the specialists were all in the same office. That is definitely a plus for me. I feel much more confident when I go into court knowing I look OK rather than have people distracted by my crooked tooth. (no pun intended). I didn't want my "crooked" teeth to reflect adversely on my client's innocence or guilt. The doctor's and staff were all professional as I expected them to be. They made it relatively easy for me to undergo treatments considering the craziness of my work schedule. So thank you Dr. Kizor for straightening my teeth, Dr. Biama for my gum reshaping, Dr. James for my fillings/crown and not forgotten, the hygienist whose son went to the same college as my daughter.

The doctors work as a team and they were very helpful to me in terms of getting an idea of what my options were and what the costs/benefits of various options would be. I shopped around at other dentists in the area and did considerable independent research to get a better understanding of my options. I liked the idea of having several doctors on your side. They all were looking out for my best interests and showed compassion.



I had four implants, four crowns, and four veneers done. Implants by Dr. Biama, the periodontist, crowns by Dr. James, general dentist, and my veneers by Dr. Traina, a general dentist. . No one doctor can be great at everything. So this team approach of dental professionals made the entire procedure comfortable for me and the quality of the result is outstanding. They had a tremendous amount of experience and very impressive technology that my prior dentist did not have and could not provide. I am extremely pleased with the results and I would highly recommend anyone to Michigan Avenue Dental Associates. If you have a dental problem-----let them show you their skill and professionalism. See how they can give you an amazing smile.

Michigan Avenue Dental Associates has been the office I have been going to for more than 25 years. I have great confidence in their work and their professionalism. I caution those who are not worldly enough to avoid dental offices’ sales gimmicks that are beginning to appear wide spread. I have seen being promoted “$1.00 for a Check Up and Cleaning” I am aware of “1-800-Dentists”. This marketing service costs the participating dentist hundreds to thousands of dollars to participate in. SOMEONE has to pay the bottom line and you don’t get anything for free. Payment HAS to come from the patient; one way or another. There is significant pressure put upon these dentists to recoup their participation fees or loss leader costs from the patient. Use caution. I have selected Michigan Avenue Dental Associates because of the integrity, honesty and professionalism the doctors there have demonstrated multi times to myself and individuals whom I have referred to them. My prudent recommendation is time tested, based upon my personal experiences and my professional knowledge of substandard care received by my clients, whom I have represented, from dentists I certainly would not endorse. I am a professional injury attorney.

I am blessed to have had the opportunity to be a patient for 10 years of Michigan Avenue Dental Associates. I started as a young teenager, had preventative sealants placed on my teeth, had orthodontic work done and I do not have any fillings, absolutely ZERO. They inspired me to clean my teeth thoroughly daily and I do and consequently have not had a ONE cavity. They emphasized prevention to me at an early age and I am grateful for that.

I was in the office recently and their receptionist, Linda, asked me to write a review. I welcomed the request because I think I know the office very well after being a patient for over 20 plus years. When I was young, I've dreaded going to the dentist. Needless to say, I'll never feared going to the dentist after visiting their office. After my experience at Michigan Avenue Dental I've not only realized how imperative it is to take care of your smile, but I've also realized that a dentist is nothing to fear. In all my past experiences, no other group of people have worked so well with their patients. No other persons have had the patience, kindness, and just overall positive attitude as this team. Even the atmosphere of the place was welcoming and comforting. They'll do whatever it takes to make you feel more relaxed and more at home. When you walk in, you can't help but feel a bit at ease. In other traditional dentist offices, you'll see small, closed rooms with probably no windows, but at Michigan Avenue Dental you have a beautiful view of Lake Michigan!! And the whole office is open which gives you a welcoming and a more comfortable feeling. I also loved how instead of overwhelming you with little booklets of startling teeth related illnesses, they had your typical fashion magazines and others to choose from. They do not try to overwhelm their patients or chide them for what they are not doing, but at the same time, they are being helpful and you leave knowing full well what you must improve on in order to have a healthier smile. Overall, they are a great group of people working together to get their jobs done and at the same time make you feel 100% comfortable. They understand that many people dread the dentist and go out of their way to make their patients feel at home. They deserve five stars, in my opinion. The office has been around for 100 years, so that says something very good about the quality of care, the kind of care, everything that makes an outstanding office an outstanding office for year after year.

I like that the office has specialists and general dentists working together. It assures me the quality of care I receive is governed by a collective effort to provide their patients--me, with the best of care.

Michigan Avenue Dental Associates has been the dental office I have been going to for many years. I have great confidence in their work. Their fees are relatively standard for the area. But what is most important is the honestly and ethics they have. I would never go to another dental office and take my chance the dentist is as ethical and honest as the doctors at Michigan Avenue Dental Associates have multiple times demonstrated to me and my friends whom I have referred to the office over the years. Go here if you want honest, upfront and kind/gentle treatment.

Went in with a tooth ache last week thinking I was going to have to have my tooth removed it hurt so bad, but came out with a nice looking filling. I've been coming here for several years and have great confidence in your treatments. Dr. James is the best. Linda, thank you for your help with my insurance, if you can call my HMO an insurance company. It only covers the very, very basics and doesn't cover quality work, long lasting work or good looking work. Thanks Terry for the kindness you have always shown me when I have my teeth cleaned. My husband just finished writing a review of Michigan Avenue Dental Associates so I thought since the computer was hot I'd right a couple of reviews. I endorse everything he says about the office. He and I are both very particular about our selection of medical doctors and dentists we elect to go to since we both practice law in a field were we are exposed to professionals who just do not make the best decisions in provided care to their patients. My personal experience at the office has also been time tested and proper treatment tested. Like my husband, I too endorse the office and do not hesitate to recommend the office to my colleagues and friends.

I have been a patient of Michigan Avenue Dental Associates for 25 years. Due to my job transfer I've moved out of the city and back again twice in those 25 years. I've gone to other dentists out of the city closer to my home when I was in the suburbs. And each time I didn't go back because I was told I "needed" this or that fixed or redone over. I would then come back to the doctors at Michigan Avenue and without me telling them about the recommendations of the younger dentists I saw they would say everything was OK and if I wanted something to look more beautiful, it was an option I would make for myself and not told I "needed" to have it done. Or if a filling was worn, it still had another 10,000 miles to go before "needing" to be replaced. I rate the office as an outstanding example of ethical and honest dentistry. I also really like the hygienist, and the staff is stable, it doesn't change every time you visit. It deserves an A+.

I have been a patient at Michigan Avenue Dental Associates for many years and have always been very pleased with my care. Dr James always provides me Top quality care and if I have ever had an issue it was addressed immediately and to my satisfaction. I also really enjoy the care and time the hygienist Megan takes with me at each of my cleaning visits. They treat you personally , follow up with phone calls after your appointment and you don't feel as if you are just another number. If you are looking for a new Dentist I highly recommend their office.

My fiance and I have been going to Michigan Avenue Dental for about 4 years and have received excellent dental care. We get our teeth cleaned about every 6 months. I went to them for an emergency abscess. Ouch! They took care of it . I had to see the root canal doctor and a gum dentist. We really appreciate that the practice consists of several dental specialties so we don't have to obtain dental services outside of this practice. My wife wanted to redo her smile which, even though I love her dearly, she really needed to do something about her crooked and stained fillings that really didn't compliment her beauty (She is reading my review). So, with some sophiscated veneers on her upper teeth she really is a knock out. We would highly recommend Michigan Avenue Dental to anyone who is looking for a quality dentist in Downtown Chicago.
