Founded in 1857, Metropolitan Family Services is one of the oldest and largest nonsectarian family service agencies in metropolitan Chicago. It serves more than 55,000 families and individuals through counseling and other supportive services. The agency s violence prevention services address several issues, such as bullying and domestic and teen dating violence, as well as child witnessing of violence. It offers counseling, mental health care, counseling and case management services to families and individuals of all ages. The agency s employee assistance programs provide counseling and management consultation services to troubled employees.
