At MacArthur's The portions are very nice very filling, I got full. The food is seasoned right not salty. The only problem I have is when the place is busy your food can get cold before you get to your table waiting to pay.

this is real soul food and they serve you a plate like grandma makes everything is good my favorites are smothered chicken, barbecue turkey leg, any of the beans and for dessert Peach Cobbler or Banana Pudding the food service people are polite and efficient the tables are cleaned regularly and the atmosphere is neighborhood friendly

Home cooked with Love is all I can say.

This place has the best soulfood i ever had .

I went to MacArthur's for the first time on 2/22. The mash potatoes were not hot, the string beans too mushy, meat loaf too salty, corn too sweet, and corn muffin too dry. There were 9 of us, and we all had one or more of these items. Salt and sugar should leave room for adding, because if it's too much, you can't take it out. They gave plenty of food; that's the good part.

I've recently started a detox to cleanse my body and I can't have meat. I was brave and went into Mac Arthur's for some of their sides. I resisted the temptation of the selection of meat and ordered sides of collard greens, sweet peas, and red beans. It was so good it makes you wanna slap the cook and it was very affordable. I learned that Mac Arthur's is good even for Vegetarians.
