Bob Handley and his band of Illegal immigrant thieves stole my daughtersvacation money and damaged my Mercedes with there careless arrogantsloppy work.Then lied to the whole condo association trying to cover there tracks.This 30-k job was suppose to be finished in a matter of weeks.Instead it took months.The work will have to be done over again.He is a crook,and a thieve,Who hires illegal immigrants that will steal anything that isn't nailed down.And will lie to anyone about anything,He is arrogant abusive and commits fraud on a daily basis,He will tell you whatever he thinks you want to hear in order to further his cause.(Which is him screwing you me or anyone elseelse out of money) Client Beware!!!!!!!!!!!!

After getting a complaint from the City of Chicago on my rotting rear porch, I contacted Lumber One, met with the owner and was walked through what was needed to have the porch conform to code. I had 4 other builders give me quotes, and Lumber One was not the cheapest, but I just got a sense they knew what they were doing. I was right!! From the drawings, to getting the permit, to the actual building, they were great. I cannot say enough about Shannon in the office and the site Supervisor Mark. Shannon went out of her way to insure all my questions and concerns were addressed. Mark couldn't have been more knowledgeable or professional. I was really impressed when the job was finished. The porch passed inspection with flying colors. I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing a porch built.

I could not believe how great communication was between the owner, Bob Handley, and his supervisor and his men. Usually a lot is lost between an initial quote and the actual job, but they didn't miss a thing. We had what we thought was a difficult project (garage roof deck, etc.), but Bob and his supervisor had excellent suggestions for everything that came up. The workers were very skilled and neat in their work/cleanup. We had received 4 quotes, and theirs was about mid-range. We will definitely use them for our next project.

I'm very pleased with Lumber 1. Bob Handley, the owner came to complete the bid. He was friendly and knowlegeable. He listened to what I wanted and delivered exactly that. His crew was efficient and competent and very hard working. They constructed a solid, well crafted porch. They cleaned up everything. The crew included English speakers, which definately helps in communication.Lumber 1 was not the cheapest bid I received, but I felt confident that they would do a good job, and to code. I recommend them.
