Blood plasma donation center, Chicago Illinois. Welcome to Interstate Blood Bank located on the north side of Chicago. We provide the opportunity for people to earn compensation for the donation of plasma while helping others, assisted by a professional staff in a sterile facility with exceptionally caring service. Through this delicate process there are certain guidelines the donor will have to meet to insure quality samples. Call for your appointment. The first donation takes 2 and a half to 3 hours, after that it only takes about 1 and a half to 2 hours. A whole blood donation is much quicker than a plasma donation as your blood is run thru a machine and then all components that are not donated are returned back to you. Of course tubing and all other collection supplies that come in contact with your blood are discarded and replaced with new, sterile materials each time a donation procedure is performed so there is no chance of contamination and it is completely safe to donate your plasma Save lives today. We are conveniently located at the end of the Brown EL Line. (Kimball & Lawrence)

Extremely rude! Turned me around when I'm a previous donor and I had everything I needed to be a new donor again smh saying that I brought the wrong time of mail after I waited so long

The important thing is to always make an appointment, or you will wait all day while fifty people go ahead of you, and then they can still reject you. I visited a website for information and it said nothing about appointments. I called the number and the recording info said: No appointment is needed, and that is all it said, no option for selecting appointments. I thought I could just show up early, but it was packed. After waiting three hours I complained. They refused me for a nonsense reason. I said I had donated platelets weeks ago. They said that means I have to wait two months. I said that is wrong, that I know platelets are like plasma, you can donate twice in one week. She said she knows and she has been waiting for corporate to call and that's why I waited an extra hour, and she sent me home. I talked to another person that said he waited there and was sent home because they couldn't find his vein, and he has given blood before. There are a number of nonsense they can pull to waste your time. Like if you drank alcohol the day before, or if you had an aspirin, or if you drank a cup of coffee, or if iron is low. Obviously they don't have much of a need for donors if they are sending people home for such silly reasons. The people there are the kind of people who just want a few dollars for a pack of smokes or beer, and for most people the compensation isn't worth it. They waste my whole day.
