I purchased a new home that needed renovations to make it livable. Once we reached the livable stage we decided to move about 2/3 of our furniture and 'stuff' over, and keep the remaining furniture and "stuff" at the old house for staging. When movers arrived, they took inventory of all of the boxes and furniture moving over, and told us approximately how long the move was going to take. They wrapped every piece of furniture in packing blankets and were very careful moving everything. No walls were damaged in the process!

My wife and I just used family moving for our last move and couldn't be happier with the services. They were flexible with schedule and worked swift even thought it was late afternoon on a Friday.

I used their moving services for my last move. The guys arrived on time and ready to work. They were quick, diligent and reasonably priced. Not a single item was damaged in the move, which rarely can ever be said. I would highly recommend them.

Couldn't be happier with my move. I had a cross country move, from IL to Arizona, and the crews on both ends were fantastic. Everything was moved professionally, with nothing lost or broken. My items were delivered to my new home on the very first day that I gave that I would be available. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to all of my friends and family.

Family Moving is the best company to call if you need a move done right and inexpensive. I have used other companies in the past but if I ever need to move again I will definitely call these guys. I highly recommend using them for your next move.

Just used Family Moving and were fantastic...they communicated before the move, during the move & afterwards. They arrived on time with a 3 man crew who very efficient and cared about my items....almost like having "friends" help you out but professional!
They made a difficult day as pleasant as possible!

Without a doubt these guys deserve every 5 star review that they get. Every single person I talked to from this company was polite and kind, that is so rare in this city!! Every five start review you read is true, these guys care about moving you as fast as they possibly can, and as cheaply as they can, and yeah they really do run when they don't have boxes in their hands. All three of our movers took extra care with all our fragile item, and nothing was broken! They were so polite and hard working, they even folded all the blankets in the U haul when they were done !! If your going to hire movers, HIRE THESE GUYS!

Very easy move with this company. They gave me the lowest estimate so I went with them for the move. They disassembled and wrapped everything carefully, so nothing was damaged. They were very fast and professional. The final price ended up being slightly lower than the estimate so I was happy.

I know everyone has a horror story when it comes to movers, but I have to admit my experience with Family Moving was very positive. Firstly, they were the same price if not cheaper than other moving companies I received quotes from. They called 3 days before my move date to confirm the date and time and faxed the certificate of insurance to my building management well in advance. Then they showed up on time and moved all my furniture without damaging anything. They also sent a team of 3 guys, all professional who carried some pretty heavy furniture and did the job well. I really recommend Roadway if you want a moving company that will get the job done.

I had a really great experience with Family Moving, they made my move easy, from the start of the estimate to the delivery. I worked with a very professional but friendly salesperson, who made sure I understood all the contract terms and costs and answered all my questions quickly. The crew showed up exactly on time, packed up some things that I didn't have good packing materials for, and even moved the most awkward and difficult couch down my stairwell. They even took apart of put back together my antique kitchen table so it wouldn't be damaged! It was the smoothest move ever! I'd highly recommend them.

The sales associate and movers were knowledgeable, efficient and helpful. everything was explained and cleaned up nicely. they are also storing my furniture and i have confidence that it will be handled with the same level of care. i would recommend this moving company to friends.

Had a Good experience moving with this company. They were very informative and helpful when i called them. They were able to pickup my stuff at two different locations. The movers were great and very nice. They took good care of my stuff and even helped me clean it up. I was also very happy they gave me a military discount for my move too. I will be using this company again in the future!

I was so relieved to have such an awesome experience moving. I was so skeptical about using a movers to move all of my belongings. However I couldn't have been happier with the result.... EVERYTHING got to my new home with no damage and everything was accounted for. The whole process with Family Moving was seamless. The sale person we communicated with was so professional and comforting with the move. I would definitely use this company again (if I ever move again) and would also recommend them!

I'm writing this review to give thanks to the movers and to say that it was a great experience. I did not have to repeat myself, All I had to do was step back and relax. My move was as smooth as it can be. They were the perfect crew. I also had a great experience with the office staff. Everyone was so caring, and understanding. I would definitely recommend Family Moving to everyone I know. I was stress free and tension free on the day of my move thanks to Family Moving & Storage.

I thought my house was definitely going to test the movers given how old it was and how narrow my hallways were. The movers from Family Moving arrived on time and started packing. I wasn’t concerned about that part though. When it came to carrying big furniture out through the hallway, I started to panic. But the movers seemed quite unmoved. They put their efforts together and handled the job quite efficiently. There was no delay anywhere and they managed to deliver on time as well. I don’t know how they do it but my move with them went perfectly.

Great local Chicago movers, they handled our local move in Chicago Gold Coast area. Family Moving & Storage, Inc, did a phenomenal job! Alex, Edwin & Adalberto were just simply AMAZING! I have nothing but good things to say about Family Moving & Storage, Inc. I had been referred to other companies by friends, but saw all of the great reviews on Yelp & BBB, and decided to get a price quote and see how it went. The other companies tanked on customer service while Family Moving & Storage, Inc. excelled.

1 - Price quote. I sent in about 5 requests online for quotes in one afternoon. By 5:00 pm Travis had responded with a very detailed and well priced quote.

2 - Follow up. I have never hired movers before and asked about a million questions beforehand. I dealt mostly with Travis & Mark and both were very helpful and extremely polite.

3 - Moving Day. The three movers were able to arrive almost 1 hour ahead of schedule. A bit of confusion between the company and movers about arrival time, but no big deal. They got down to business fast and were extremely polite the entire time. Kept smiles on their faces as they were hauling up heavy furniture and boxes.

Finally, they allowed me to look in the truck to make sure I had everything. The time and cost estimate were below what I was told, so I tipped them pretty well. Those guys busted tail and didn't scratch, ding, or dent any of my furniture or the hallway of my building.

Great referral, so thanks to everyone who has reviewed them!

FAMILY MOVING & STORAGE IS THE BEST! They lived up to every ounce of their 5 star reviews. From the first phone call where I got an estimate and arranged an appointment until the last box was in my new place, everyone at Family Moving & Storage, Inc. was wonderful.

This was my first time using professional movers and Manny and Victor did a fantastic job. They had finished their previous job early and called to see if I was ready for them. They did a swift survey of my stuff and promptly got to work. They worked quickly but took care in handling my stuff.

We got caught in a bit of traffic on the way from Wicker Park up to Lake-view so they went over their original estimate by a bit - to no fault of their own.

All in all, they moved all of my stuff in a little over 3 hours and the grand total was a mere $300.

Worth. Every. Penny.

Good service great price. I understand they use hourly methods. I just looked at hourly rates and reviews. This made sense. I'm sure other people can do this too.

The absolute worst customer service I have ever encountered. Dealing with Josh (manager/owner?) was a COMPLETE NIGHTMARE!!!! I have scheduled a move for May 31 which I know is a busy moving day in Chicago. My pick up time was supposed to be between 2 and 4pm. Around 2:30 I called Josh to see about an ETA and he said he'd call me back. I called again at 3pm and got the same answer. I continued to call again at 4:00, 5:00, 6:00, 7:00, and 8:00. In that time he told me he'd call me back each time and sometimes sent my phone call directly to voicemail (he did not call me once). I finally got an answer at 9:00pm that my movers would arrive at 10:00pm. EIGHT HOURS LATE. The guys who showed up (Johnny, Carlos, Terry, Marcos) were friendly, helpful, professional and quick! They were amazing and so nice which I can't say about Josh. Since the job took less than an hour because I ended up moving a lot of my own stuff in the afternoon while I was waiting I was only going to pay for an hour's work. THE ONE TIME JOSH CALLED ME WAS TO DEMAND I PAY FULL PRICE AFTER WAITING 8 HOURS. Josh called me at 10:30pm and proceeded to yell and harass me on the phone since I refused to pay for more than hour's work. Josh seemed like he wanted a screaming match so I gave him one. After about 15 minutes arguing with a grown man on the phone I handed the phone to Johnny, and refused to speak to Josh. Josh then called me 2 times where I didn't answer and he didn't leave a voicemail It is now June 3 and I have not gotten an apology from Josh. How embarrassing for him, a grown man who is supposed to be professional calling his customers and screaming at them on the phone. It's pathetic and BEYOND UNPROFESSIONAL. He is, hands down, the worst person I have ever done business with. If I am paying for other's people's time, is my time not worth something as well? 8 HOURS LATE AND NO PHONE CALL. Do not do business with Josh because he has proven to be unreliable and completely unprofessional. I have told everyone I know not to use Family Moving and Storage and I suggest you follow my advice.
