Daughter brought her 2005 Chevy Aveo in with the engine light on. Told shop manager she is a college student and has a part time min wage job that funds are short, plugged it into diagnostic and called he back 2 hrs later with a bill of $1436.84....Billed everything from new catalytic converter, new spark plugs, wires, oxygen sensors, air filter pcv valve , valve cover gasket kit. total bill for parts fro E&J was 954..96 labor was 393.55. Plus he 106.48 for the diagnostic check cauuse he knew she could not afford the bill therefore had to pay the diagnostic test.,

This shop offers great service. They always promptly call you to let you know what's going on with your car before they start the repair, in case you might think that is too expensive or have questions. They're friendly, very professional and have an outstanding warranty policy. I have been going to this shop for almost ten years. Keep up the good work!!

I have been a customer of E & J Auto Service for over 10 years. My family has been using them for over 20 years. When you need service work on your car, E & J is the place to go. They provide high quality service with a friendly attitude. You know that you are receiving honest work at E & J Service. My wife has a Volkswaggen Jetta... for years, her "Check Engine" light was on. Unfortunately, for years, her father took her car to other auto services. They would never fix the problem and insisted that it was a computer glitch, yet she still had to pay for that type of service. Until I took her car to E & J....John informed me that other mechanics do not like working on foreign cars....not him. He took the bull by the horns and fixed my wifes "Check Engine" issue. I have been going to E & J for about 7 yrs. The first time, I brought an old Impala to John Sr. (Who's now retired) to look at an electrical problem with it. He was the only one able to fix it after 5 other shops had looked at it. Now that John Jr. is running the place their quality of service and honesty has not changed. It's outstanding! I'd recommend this place to anyone.

I have used E & J since moving to Chicago 6 years ago. I have not had any problems and have recommended them to many friends and family. The service is good and honest. I have my routine maintenance done here along with major repairs.

I moved to Chicago 6 years ago from Michigan. I was referred to E & J by a friend who had been going there for years, the last time being 12/15/09. The service is excellent and honest. Always accomodating. I moved 25 miles away almost 5 years ago and still go there for any repair. It is worth it to me to drive the distance and have peace of mind.

I moved to the neighborhood about 5 years ago. E&J is a very small place right around the corner. They repair only what needs to be repaired, alert you to what might need to be repaired later, but clearly don't take advantage of you. They will tell you when they think another place can do the job better than they can, which in my mind increases their credibility. And when they have referred me to another place, it's always been a good experience. I have recommended E&J to family and friends, and now they bring their cars from the suburbs.

My name is Bob Rossi. I've been going to E & J Auto Service for almost 40 years and I can't say enough. Started bringing my autos to John Losch Sr. back in the late 60's. Have known Bob Randall for almost 25 years. I've known John Losch Jr. since he was a kid.The service at E & J is one you can trust and depend on for any auto needs. I have sent family members and friends to E & J and nobody has been disappointed by the service. I have several new cars over the past 40 years and the only service I have had done on them was warranty work outside of that they all go back to E & J for all maintenance.
