While I think that the dental ...

*I had to revise my previous review. I had an issue with billing at Downtown Dental as a result of lack of communication, and Dr. Patel personally contacted me and refunded my ENTIRE bill. I am extremely impressed not only with the high quality dental work at Downtown Dental, but also with the level of customer service.

So the dentistry at downtown d...

So the dentistry at downtown dental is no big wow....they give you the basic attention and recommendations any dentistry office will give you, just in a great location for those working/living downtown Chicago. However the customer service team at the front desk...along with the "office manager" are a complete deal breaker for me.

I've never been so utterly disrespected, disregarded, and downright disgusted by such unprofessional, candid, little girls.

I had an appointment on my day off and I had a million things to do, I had been to the office once before but I had time to waste that first visit. On my 2nd visit, I made it just in time to find a parking spot and run up to the office...or so I thought, as traffic was monstrous and parking spaces and lots were both at capacity. So I called the office to tell them 15 min before my appt time to tell them I was looking for parking. No problem they said.... at 5 min til my appt time I was still in search for a place to park, so I called again to verify that I would be able to still come in without fail. I was told sure, but they would charge me a $50 late fee, if I didn't make it up in the next 10 min. So I proceeded to look for a parking spot as I definitely didn't want to pay a $50 late fee...when my copay is only $25. I found a lot to park in 15 min after my appt time, I paid $22 to park, I called the office one more time while walking to the office to verify if I was going to be able to see the doctor. I was told that I wouldn't be able to see the doctor and that I would be charged a $50 late fee. So, I went home.

30 min later, while sitting in my living room, I get a courtesy call from the doctor I was scheduled to see. I'm told that she's still waiting on me, despite the information given to me by the front desk rep. I'm livid at this point...so I call the office to speak with the young lady who gave me poor information. Who candidly replies that she gave me the right information and that somehow the call was disconnected before she could tell me that they would still take me and furthermore that I never said I was no longer coming in.

And I'm really not sure what world she lives in...but usually when someone tells you that you wont be able to see the doctor and you'll be assessed a $50 late fee...you typically don't have an appt anymore and you carry on with your day. As for the call, she said what she had to say... and I replied a very flustered "...okay, thanks anyways" she said nothing further and I ended the call. Had there been any other information, it was her job to have called me back to give me that information. As she wasn't mid-sentence or in any sentence that would've led to another sentence when "the call disconnected".

I am told that my appt will be rescheduled for a month down the line and that at that time I will be able to speak with the doctor about crediting the late fee. I agree. At my 3rd appt, my dental service is all that I expect. I proceed to pay my bill for the service I have received. I have definitely been assessed a $50 late fee. I ask to speak with the doctor. Suddenly the head doctor isn't in the office but I can speak to the office manager....ok, I guess that'll do. I calmly tell the woman about the situation, which she is highly aware of already, she tells me candidly that she will not waive the fee, along with hand motions, a shake of her neck, wide eyes, and pursed lips...all attitude that was not requested. I am again livid, because I don't see why on this dear earth this fee would not be credited or why her attitude is such. I am not a happy camper, the manager refuses to budge without even the slightest consideration of the mistakes of the front desk rep. So I am charged a $50 fee, I'm reluctant to pay it...but nevertheless I do.

and I officially write this office off altogether.
