As a home buyer I would never recommend purchasing a house in Chicago without having Domicile perform the inspection. I have used Ross for my inspection for the last two houses I have bought and his knowledge, attention to detail, and honesty is without a doubt second to none. For my most recent inspection Ross was very accommodating with working around my schedule (the sellers had young kids and where somewhat difficult to schedule around but still wanted the inspection done within 5 days). During the inspection, I followed Ross around and he pointed out and explained, in simple terms I understood, every issue or potential issue there was with the house. At the end of the inspection I received a full report complete with pictures of all problem areas, accompanied by a written description of issues, and most helpful for me, a recap of what he told me verbally what needs to be done to address the issue. (This is opposed to an inspector I used on a property I bought a few years ago in another city who simply gave me a report of what was wrong, with very little explanation or guidance to fix the problems) What I like most about using Ross is that he will give you a personal opinion on how serious an issue and how much it should affect your decision to purchase. During my latest inspection, we were not able to gain access to the crawlspace. Ross suggested that given the house was over 100 years old; he personally would not purchase the place without inspecting the space. Subsequently he made two trips back to the house free of charge until he was able to inspect the crawl space for me. Additionally, after we finished initial inspection, he was nice enough to follow me back to my current house (once again free of charge) to take a look at an issue I was concerned about, giving me advice on what needed to be done to fix it. Overall, each time I have used Domicile, they have successfully put my mind at ease that I know exactly what I am paying for when purchasing a new house.
