If you are in the L&B area, stop in for a loaf of bread or some pastry. This place is one of the last old bakeries and it is yummy!

Just finished their focacia version of a quiche and it was perhaps one of the more delicious breakfasts I have ever had. Their selection is great, the prices reasonable, and customer service excellent. I was like a kid in a candy store, and will definitely be back!

Overall, bakeries are a dying type of service. It still has the old style family-owned tradition of wanting to be of help to the customer. With rare exception, the employees are warm and friendly. They make suggestions appropriately. The bakery selections are always fresh. The aroma of the coffee adds to the shopping experience. The 15-minute parking is also a real blessing for those of us who have difficulty ambulating for any distance. My dad shopped at Dinkel's over 50 years ago and we all looked forward to him coming home on Wednesday afternoons with his weekly selections. Keep up the good work. The various cake decorations and party favors are nice and add to the one-stop shopping experience for a child's party, adult get-together, etc. My only criticism is that on a several occasions I have been cut off while waiting on hold to place an order. Small problem.

I went there, as I had yearly to pick up a Easter Lamb cake that I ordered online. I had no worries because each year things were fine. But in 2006 the cake was totally different. It was less than half the size i always had gotten and yet the same price ! It was covered in coconut and so dry that no beverage helped wash it down. I had mentioned that the cake was small and the lady behind the counter agreed with me and when on the following Monday I contacted the owner he told me I was dead wrong in my opinions and that the cake was identical to what I always had for years. My guests even contacted him and he was not happy with all our compliants; but they were warranted and I will never recommend them again to anyone ! Great German bakery with good daily selections. can be a bit pricey, but worth every penny!
