I SAY SCAMMERS POLICE SAY SCAM!!! My gf and I got a Living Social deal for the Chicago Segway Tour. Once there, we got offered insurance for the "wheel" - verbally-. We paid the insurance and were also charged with taxes for the "service", which is scam #1. You cannot charge taxes on a service!!!!. As we prepared for the tour, the tour guide who was more like a clown and gave no proper instructions on how to ride a Segway. As we started the tour on a single line, the tour guide only payed attention to the people in front of the line (There was 10 people in the group + the tour guide). We were in the back of the line. Not even halfway in the tour, I fell down of the Segway: I hit a pothole that the tour guide did not point out, and the Segway tipped over. People behind me almost fell too with the same pothole. Anyway, the tour guide, who was doing all short of tricks to be "funny" or annoying for most of us, didn't even noticed I fell and we had to yelled at him to stop. Segway had barely any damage, and was ok to ride. In fact the tour guide rode my Segway from that point on. Which means he rode my Segway for more than 75% of the tour. When we came back, Dimitris Kalis charged my credit card for $150 WITHOUT MY CONSENT for the "damage" in the wheel. And no, the insurance we were sold as an "insurance for the wheel" turned out to be only for flat tire (Which is also a scam, because eventually those tires will get flat after use, as ANY other tire will. They just don't want to pay for new wheels, and instead want people to be responsible for the nature of the life of the wheel). I refused to pay for the charges and they refuse to give me my credit card back. He put it in his pocket just like a baby would hide his lollipop from other kids. He was totally unreasonable and when ask to talk to his boss, he said he was on vacation. When ask for his name and phone number, he say he will give it to us, but then he will turn around and play with the Segways. He tried to get the attention to another matter, but I insisted to get his information. After practically 10 minutes of me asking for the information he said he would only give me his name and his "personal email". He wrote with HORRIBLE and almost unreadable handwriting (obviously shaking), the name of the boss and the "personal email" which was segwaypictures@yahoo.com. We all know that that is not a personal email. That is a business email that this two idiots have access to. When I confront him about it, he said that is his "personal" email. The guy got all mix-up and obviously did not understand the difference between personal and business. After asking for my credit card for over 30 minutes... I told him I was going to call the cops. He dared me to do it - he did not believe I would. So I did. Cops came over and they agreed that the whole thing was a total SCAM! They concurred that they company is running a scam to get money off people who feel off their Segway - which most likely will happen being a beginner. They were upset about the lack of responsibility and professionalism of the company for (1) not offering a proper insurance, and (2) for not informing properly to their clients about the risks and cost of any accident. In order to get my credit card back, a police officer willingly wrote his number on the receipt so I can dispute the charges. The two cops told me that if I don't get my money back, I should take it to court and most likely force them to pay me back. Living social understood the situation, and kindly refunded the money we pay for such a horrible and poor experience.

I was just on Holidays with my girls and decided to try something different. Our tour guide took his time to explained everything step by step and made us feel welcome. We got to see the best of what Chicago has to offer. One more plus is they rent bicycles so for the rest of the week this became our one stop shop. Must see must do in Chicago. Absolutely FAB

My Husband and I were in town last weekend and decided to do the segway tour. When we walked in to inquire about the tours the entire staff was so welcoming and kind. We ended up going on the tour and Harrison was amazing. What a sweet kid. He trained us all so we were confident before we left the building and during the whole tour he shared with us what he loves about Chicago and some fun facts. He went out of his way to make us all feel welcome and take pictures of us when requested. I was amazed how concerned the team was about our safety and making sure we were all having a good time. I would HIGHLY recommend this tour to anyone visiting Chicago. Looking forward to returning in September. Training and Staff A+

Read the fine print....no refunds. That means even if the company cancels on you due to rain, and you're leaving town the next day to go home, you will not get your money back. Do not book this tour with such lousy customer service.

My daughter and her friends went on a segway tour as I provided a birthday gift to her and several friends. I was mortified to hear that a dark guy, heavy accent young man, and later was told he is the owner, Demetris Ttaipis was litterally trying to pick up a date with not just one of my daughter's friends but my daughter included!! Repulsive and Sick! What ethics and crudeness you have as a owner! The City should shut you down, and rest assure I will be filing a complaint against your business as YOU ARE A TOTAL DEMEANING person, and very SHALLOW person to do this to young girls!!

It took almost 30 minutes for us to get trained on our segways as there was a large crowd almost 45 riders. Space was big but not enough trainers to accomodate everyone. a $3 scam for tire insurance blew us away, some form of getting more money from us and other riders. We called the 800 SEGWAY number as we were told we spoke with the owner (Demetri) about the $3 dollar charge and the main number 312.890.3701 is the exact same number to reach the owner, Tiger aka. Demetri aka Greg,Peter (this owner has all these alliases,doesn't sound ethical??)+ a heavy accent to add. We stopped twice, the bathroom and a hotdog/drink at the shedd aquarium for almost (15 mins) each time. I didn't feel i should pay for a restroom or hotdog break that long, i'd say other companies can provide better if not as good of a tour, because this one sounded really shady with all these fees and pressing us to pay cash to get a $11 discount. Dude, run a legitate business and run from UNCLE SAM- money laundering..

A few friends had taken this tour, most of the equipment was lovely to see the beautiful colors, but the helmets were extremely dirty. The staff were training in a very condesending manner and the owner-Demetris (Jimmy as he told us his name) was very pushy about paying cash and then later at the end of our tour asked me for my number and wanted to go for coffee or ice cream sometime soon. Full of copmliments but the wrong way to go about trying to get a number or date. Creepy though becuase youfill out a waiver and it has your personal information- he"s called me a number of times and I know he got my number from that waiver I filled out at his business. We noticed that some Segways had valid license permits while others were expired and I question the business ethics behind this company because no licenses are evident or posted at the location, it was extreemely dark inside the facility, wires were exposed everywhere and light bulbs dangled from the cielings while a few had poppe

My husband and I see the Segway tours while walking to and from work. I always wanted to try it. I inquired about it while sitting on a park bench. The tour guide was very friendly and gave us a brochure. I called and made the reservation with a friendly representative and we were good to go... Our tour guide for the day was awesome! Zack made us feel very comfortable on the Segway. This was my first experience of this kind so I was nervous. He made sure we were all confident before our tour began. The tour is wonderful. I saw and learned things about Chicago I'd never heard before. I am looking forward to our next tour!!

Training was good, and the tour was great. Our guide never seemed to hurry us at any time, and was very good about making sure everyone was (safe) and having fun. We really got more than our money's worth. A great experience and super was to tour the city. Thanks for a great time.Daniel Cox

This tour was so much fun! Our guide made everyone feel comfortable and gave great directions on how to use the Segway. He also shared a lot of Chicago history - even though I've been to Chicago several times before, I learned several news things and had so much fun on the Segway! I would take this tour again if given the chance.

Zack, our guide, was knowledgable and a lot of fun to be with. We had few people in our group including Zack so we were able to ask many questions related to the Chicago Skyline and development of the City of Chicago. In two hours we saw more of Chicago than we could see in a whole day without the Segways. The tour was worth the price! His directions were explicit and easy to understand and follow. Riding the Segways was an experience we will repeat in other cities and look forward to returning to Chicago to "do" the other Segway tours that are available. Only the next time, we will Segway first, then go back to the locations that appeal to us.

This was a perfect way to start a Saturday night date and we both thoroughly enjoyed every second of it. Our guide and "host" was delightful and although we're native Chicagoans we saw views never before experienced. The Segway was a blast. After about 10 minutes we felt it was part of us and we were part of it. Bottom line, we'd do it again...even with the occassional rain...and we'd highly recommend it to anyone. Matter of act we already have!

This was a fantastic experience and I cannot recommend it highly enough. It is very easy to learn and the instructors / guides are all patient. All our group had picked it up in about ten minutes and we were soon whizzing through the streets of Chicago to the amused looks of other tourists. This was the highlight of our stay and I hope others will enjoy this tour as much as we did. If your in Chicago you must ride Chicago Segway tours!!!!!!

This is a great experience. The training is done thoroughly and makes you feel comfortable before starting out. The trainers are courteous and patient. The tour is interesting allowing plenty of Segway time and variety while providing breaks at just the right time. The amount of sights covered is just right with interesting background provided. Safety is a top priority throughout the tour. The Segway is so easy to ride and a great way to get around. The staff is extremely courteous and knowledgeable. Highly recommend this as a must-do in Chicago

Wow what a great afternoon! Our guide was so knowledgable! We had too much fun. The best part was that the segways made everyone smile whether you were riding it or just watching it. This is my second tour with these guys and won't be my last! I had the time of my life!

Must do if your in Chicago! We were visiting from Cali and not used to the weather but Joe took the extra time to go over safety and was so kind. We got a bonus why we were there, Joe took us over to Navy Pier to view the ice sculptures that were amazing. We will post pics soon.....

My family and I were visiting Chicago and decided to go ahead and do this tour. I have 2 girls age 13 and 16 and a 18 year old boy that is not always easy. Joe and Jordan went out of there way to make us all safe and happy. We had a wonderful tour and cant wait to do it again. Thanks again
