Alberto is the kind of businessman who will gain your trust and then rob you blind.



I met Alberto about two years ago when I started having problems with my Jeep. By apparently being very professional and knowledgeable about cars and showing me exactly what parts needed to be replaced and why he convinced me to spend thousands of dollars to fix a car that I ended up having to sell for $300 when it left me stranded in New Mexico last August. When I called him about this situation he told me that he felt responsible and that he would help me find a reliable vehicle for cheap. He ended up selling me a car for $2800 (he wanted $3000) in November, which I had to take back to his shop many times. Everything started to break down, I only drove this car once a week but I spent $1000 in repairs until I had an accident because of its defective brakes. When I was on my way to his shop the transmission cable stopped working. He then kept the car at his shop without communicating with me for months. He never returned my calls. I had to show up in person. He told me that the brakes were fine and that the specific problem I had experienced (the brake pedal frozen, impossible to push down) had never occurred when they drove it around, and so the brakes were fine. He also told me that the transmission part was impossible to find because this car (a Honda Passport) was an old model that is out of production and that they had been looking for it for weeks and weeks. I told him that I had no intention of ever driving that car again, anyway, because no matter what he said the brake had frozen under my foot and I would rather not endanger my life again. He looked at me like I was an insane person. He also made inappropriate remarks about my physical appearance. He said that someone as beautiful as me sure needed to have a boyfriend. He talked me into the idea that he would find me a new car of higher value, and that I could trade in my old car. After this I waited and waited. I called him many times to no avail and when he finally answered he told me that he was in the process of getting a lot of cars at auctions. Then nothing for many more weeks. Finally I called him and left a voicemail saying that he had kept my car for four months and that I was tired of this situation and that I didn't want a car anymore and that if he had indeed given me such a GREAT DEAL (since he even then insisted that the car was worth more than $2800) wouldn't he please just buy this car back from me, which I had hardly driven at all in the few months I had owned it.



A few days ago I got a call from one of his minions who said that I could come pick up my car. Which I had made clear I didn't want back. In disbelief I went to the shop. Alberto was not there. They told me that they had more or less fixed the transmission cable (not quite, since that piece doesn't exist anymore. They "rigged" it). Again they said that the brakes were fine. And the car had a "check engine" light on and the ABS light on. Still, disgusted with these people I decided to take the car and drive away, because I never want to see them again until I die.



Yesterday the transmission cable stopped working again: when in drive the car acts as if it was in neutral, so I need to put it in "3" to be able to move. Plus, I expect the brake to stop working randomly, so I'm always ready to pull the emergency brake. Some fun driving!



So yes, please go to Cermak Auto Center if you enjoy being sexually harassed, being treated in a condescending, patronizing way and being robbed blind.

This is a great place including the customer service took my car somewhere else and they wanted to charge me 500+ dollars and I went here and got a second opinion and came out 300 cheaper and was repaired within an hour when the other place told me 4hrs. This will be the shop I will be going to for all repairs. Great service excellent! !!

This place is the best! I will never take my car anywhere else. I have been there a few times in the past year and a half. Every time I have been there the owner Albert has taken time to ex plane my options to me and never have i been pressured to do extra work, instead they tell me what I need and what can wait. the best part is they take appointment's. When you take your car for your scheduled appointment they start on your car there and then. I have had a lot of bad experanices with shops before Cermak auto center is the answer to all my car needs. Very nice and very knowledgeable.
