The BBB helped me resolve an issue regarding a defective product ordered from an online retailer. I had originally tried to resolve the issue with the company, to no avail. Within 24 hours of my complaint being filed with the Better Business Bureau, the company agreed to replace the defective items (which was all I was asking for in the first place). Now, everyone's happy. And, I was able to complete the entire complaint / issue resolvment process using my smartphone -- how great is that!! I'm one happy customer and a believer in using the Better Business Bureau.

They did a great job in getting Sears to refund 3 sets of money. One that had been paid for a service not provided , two a refund for a chair that was never delivered and three for an oven that Sears destroyed and would not replace. Lesson learned DON'T BUY FROM SEARS.

The BBB was there for me! Got exactly what I had coming to me. A local retailer sold a false product and the BBB helped me get my money back. They were quick, polite and accurate. Hopefully I will never need them again, but if I do have another problem, I will go to the BBB without hesitation. Thanks again!

I contacted the BBB regarding a problem with Joe Boxer, sold by Kmart - which is a subsidy of Sears. I got nowhere with any of the three companies but once BBB got involved I finally got a response from Sears. I wouldn't have gotten any resolution without the BBB!

I contacted BBB about a Sears repair service problem with my fathers refridgerator and the BBB jumped right on them and got results more quickly and better than the Sears store itself. Thanks BBB for all that you did now my father can feel justice was done and we got what we wanted and should have happened in the first place.

I could not get out of an "automatically renewed" service contract, so I contacted the Better Business Bureau. I completed my complaint form. BBB submitted it to the company which rejected my first request BUT the Better Business Bureau let me submit an appeal and my request to terminate this service contract was granted. I could not have done this without the Better Business Bureau. The BBB has clout that individuals do not have.

Collection agency kept robocalling me about somone else's bad debt -- apparently the deadbeat gave my phone number as a contact. Agency ignored my repeated written requests to remove my number from their file & robocalls continued. I sought BBB's assistance with the problem and within 30 days the collection agency agreed to delete my number, as requested. No more robocalls. BBB provided a prompt and efficient resolution.

I had an issue with ACE Hardware. The ACE Website allowed you to purchase an item and have you pick-up at a store location. I made 3 separate purchase for the same item and each time they refused to honor the item even though the website say it was available for pick-up on the same day. Each time I made same or similar purchase the price increased and it kept advertising the item was available for pick up. I felt that ACE website was either poorly managed or just trying to defraud the consumer. I called ACE 800 number and ask what happen to my orders? and all they could respond back was "sorry - can't control the inventory". Basically, I took that as you are SOL. I submitted a claim to BBB (not expecting much) and within 3 days I had my issues resolved and ACE offered the items for purchase within 2 days at the SAME store that said it was NOT available and at the original PRICE. All I can say is that BBB stood behind me as a consumer. Two words to BBB - "THANK YOU"

I recently contacted Sears to get an annual preventive service for my Craftsman Lawn Tractor. I also needed to have my deflector replaced. The service man was not a Sears employee, but an outside contractor. The Sears website states that the $99 fee is NOT an additional charge. However the service man included the $99 charge as an additional charge. When I strongly contested this additional charge, the service man just mumbled with his back to me. Then he proceeded to complete the customer survey himself, giving him a stellar review of course. I just happened to see this over his shoulder. I mean seriously! The repairman completes your survey himself. I contacted Sears repair services immediately to no avail. I then contacted the BBB. Having done that, I received an immediate call from Sears and a refund of the extra charges. If you need help with a consumer complaint, the BBB is the place to go. Thank you!

I had purchased a washing machine at our local Sears. A pulsator cap became defective while it was under warranty. The third-party contractors that were hired to do the repairs kept stalling me for over a month. I did contact corporate headquarters and they began to work with me. However, I filed a report with the BBB because I wanted Sears to know that much time and energy was needlessly wasted over something that was an easy fix. I do not want that headache again nor would I want anyone else to either.

I was very dissatisfied with Sears Service; Customer Care Solutions in the way they handled my air conditioner that was still under warranty and had a 5 year extended warranty; only used 21/2 months. With tempature in upper 90s and heat index 106 and they took their time getting someone out to look at. This went on for 5 weeks or so And not until we sent in complaint to Better Business Bureau and they sent them a letter they decided that 5th week instead of repairing; which was double price of new air conditioner; they replaced. And gave me a refund for a service call. Thanks Better Business Bureau.

I had an issue with United Airlines regarding luggage fee. I've tried contacting them by phone and email to get a refund and wasn't successful. My problem was resolved only after I made a complaint before BBB. United responded the next day and will issue me a refund.

We had an issue with Deck Tech and submitted a complaint with the BBB. This was the first time we had contacted the BBB. It was WELL worth it. Their response was prompt and the claim was handled with the utmost professionalism. We could not have resolved our issue without them.

I had an issue with Empire Today and defective carpeting. They put me off for over a month. They kept saying someone would call me back by the end of the day or by the end of the week but no one ever called. I felt helpless and did not know what to do. My next step was going to be small claims court. I finally filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and within 24 hours I got a call back from Empire today and within a month the carpet was replaced and the issue finally resolved. I highly recommend utilizing this service as you will get immediate results! Thank you BBB for helping me when I felt completely helpless and did not know where to turn.

The first time I need help to resolve an issue, it was in 2013 where I purchased a HP computer. When I received the computer it was defective. When I tried to resolve the issue with HP, It resulted in me having to get BBB involved because HP did not want to return my money, nor give me another new computer...(they wanted to give me a refurbished computer in the place of my new one). Thanks to BBB getting involved, HP returned my money. I had another issue this year 2015 with Planet Fitness where I developed a medical condition that prevented me from using their facility and requested a refund, they agreed to return my money but was told they were to busy to get it done at that moment. I called BBB and they again helped expedite the refund. Thanks BBB for all you do!!!!

I had a problem with Sears with their warranty on a battery. I talked with them at the store twice with no luck,nothing they could do. I contacted the BBB two days latter I received a call from the store manager he offered me 1/2 off on a new battery , no right but without the help of BBB I would not have receiver anything. Thanke BBB
