The Bally's in Rockville Centre, NY is dingy, smelly, not enough epuipment for the menbers, the pool water looks a light brown, the parking is ridiculous and the staff are not willing to explain the gym to you. I do not reccommend this gym. Surprisingly Rockville centre is a beautiful town with an out of date gym in it...needs a major renovation!!!! Look up a different location.

I got stuck with a 3 yr. membership one time and couldn't get out. The shady sales guy said it was for a year and he was giving me great deal. so i signed it and yea the rest is history. The equipment works but is old and rusty looking on some machines. Not worth money. They will go out of business sooner than later. Horrible

I signed up for training with Ballys in Houston, Texas in 2008. The cost was high and the club was minimally maintained, but beware the automatic check pay on training. The accounting function is sloppy and I have ended up with an $842 erroneous charge to my bamk account that no one seems able to fix. My business has gone elsewhere and I highly recommend another club for ethics and customer satisfaction.

I was a successful personal trainer at BTF for over a year.....and I would never refer anyone to them. The only people that get treated worse than the members are the employees.Support your local hole in the wall gyms, they usually have way better trainers!

The Bally's in Cheltenham PA is the worst! The worker ( including Management) are rude and unprofessional, the equipment is not kept up and the clientle leaves a lot to be desired I feel like I am in a high school located in the worst part of town. The only thing Bally has going for it is the pricing.

Bally's on 87th st is a busy place and needs immediate and considerable renovation. The pool and spa area are dingy and in disrepair. Many of the lockers need to be replaced. The entire exercise area could use a general sprucing up. For a fitness center that boast a large membership it lacks the sparkle to grow it's membership

very disapointed with Bally's Total Fitness, I signed after they posted wrong hours on the door, fought them with BBB - lost - they offered to phone and give me my training as per the contract - twice they never did - nor did they return phone calls. I am continuing to pay but as soon as my term is up I will cancel and return to Golds - dont know what I was thinking but Bally's Total Fitness is NOT the way to go!

I signed up for a free 30 day guest pass, went one day and will never go back. The facility was disgusting - the women's locker room was unsanitary, the equipment needed to be cleaned, and the lighting was terrible! The management was pushy, I got hit on by one of the trainers, and no offense, but when you're in better shape than the manager before you start working out, there's a problem.I would rather pay for a better kept professional facility than return to Bally's for free.

Dear Bally:Here is how I got in the best "amerishape" of my life and your location helped greatly.Read on weight loss warriors.....Here is a valuable tip for all......The best way to lose weight, tone up, and help lower your blood cholesterol level is to eat less saturated fat, carbs, and begin to control your current weight with walking or do another physical activity for at least 30 minutes each day. This plan is based on these simple steps and amerishape.com has taken the guess work out of figuring this out on your own. Use up at least as many calories as you take in.Be physically active.Aim for at least 30 minutes of physical activity on most days of the week, if not all.Eat a variety of nutrient-rich foods.Eat a diet rich in vegetables and fruits.Choose whole-grain, high-fiber foods.Eat fish at least twice a week.Eat less of the nutrient-poor foods.Limit how much saturated fat, trans fat and cholesterol you eat. Regards,Anita Gross

Definitely not worth the money. They don't fix their treadmills when they break, and it is SUPER hot- even in the winter it feels like the heat is turned on (they've had the doors open in the cold months.) When asked about this, they said they couldn't lower the temp because they are required to keep it at a certain temp. For some reason, I really doubt that 85-90 degrees is the required Bally's temperature.

Buyer Beware. High pressure, deceptive sales tactics to get your signature on 3 yr contract for thousands- virtually impossible to cancel, you either pay up or they ruin your credit- sometimes discovered years later. Do your homework online.
